  • So Ms Mary Chan

I want to hear more about this wedding. When, where, who, what. You know all the dirt. I have been gone for awhile and probably missed your post, but I want to hear all about it. I love Wedding.

Hey, Desertthorn! So nice of you to ask I'm very excited about my wedding so I love to talk about it of course lol! Haven't really talked about it much, other then to say it has been a super motivator for me to lose weight!! Hmm where to start?

I'm marrying my darling fiance (that's kind of redundant isn't it? I'm marrying the person i'm going to marry lol), his name is Jim, he's been wonderful and supportive in everything i do, and he's atkins-ing alongside with me. He proposed to me in 2001 (It's been a while, life gets in the way!). He proposed to me in Disneyland here in california in the Blue Bayou restaurant (it's that romantic place that is right next to Pirates of the Caribbean). He said he had a present for me,, and gave me this crystal mickey holding up the ring. Actually he was so nervous he didn't really say "will you marry me", he just said "will you?" which I tease him about all the time LOL.

Anyway, fast forward to this year, when I decide to get serious about losing weight and getting married. Mostly we had been planning to get married somewhere here in southern california, on the beach, but most places we looked into were pretty expensive. I always wanted to get married in Walt Disney World, my favorite place!! and figured it would be just about the same price over there then it would be around LA. (which it is). Luckily my family are all disney nuts and were pretty excited about my choice! Oh, and my fiance was okay with it too - LOL.

Our wedding date is April 24th, 2006. Our ceremony will be in the EPCOT's world showcase, in the italy pavilion, on a little island jutting into the lagoon called the "Isola"
here are some pictures of it, though they don't do it justice

We get married in the morning before the park opens, so it will be decorated just for us and everything. After the ceremony, we head to our reception location at the Yacht & Beach club hotel right outside of Epcot, at a private reception location called "Ariel's". At the reception, we plan to have Mickey & Minnie as surprise guests, and maybe Stitch at one point. I think our wedding guests will love that!

Oh, and a few days before the wedding we are having our welcome party at a private viewing balcony at the Fantasmic! theatre to watch the show. Though it willbe a dessert party actually- I'm afraid to say it won't be very atkins friendly lol. (though it at least will have fruit available!)

A few days after the wedding, we are having a magic kingdom photo session, where we go to the Magic Kingdom before it opens, with my wedding dress and jim's tux on and get our pictures taken in front of the castle, in the castle, on the balcony from the castle, in the foyer, on the carousel, etc. I have seen other disney bride's photos from this and they look beautiful!

Of course wedding planing lies in the details and I have been having fun making the million small decisions I need to make, like centerpieces, floral, cake design, etc. I will spare you those details! I am probably obsessing, but it is fun to plan and you only get to do this once (at least I hope it will only be once lol). And it keeps me focused on my goal!

Anyway those are my wedding plans in a nutshell! Thanks for asking about them, let me know if you want to know anything else, I am of course happy to talk about it!!
