  • You guys, I ran a half mile tonight!

    I am so surprised.

I was reading Betty's post about how she's run for a couple years and I haven't tried it in well over 7 years. Tonight, for the first time, I ran! It is such an amazing feeling to be doing this again.

I always use weight as an excuse, because I thought I had to weigh below 200 to run. But with good running form, I was able to do it.

Why do we continue to use weight as an excuse even when we lose weight? I was waiting for the heavens to open and a little cherub top alert me that now I was thin enough to run. Guess what? There are no cherubs.

Just me holding myself back because I didn't think I could do it.

Thanks for listening to me ramble. I just wanted someone to talk to.

Cleo, what a fabulous success, to be able to have run a half a mile! Good for you! I'm still in the initial stages of the Couch/5K program, and running is still hard for me. I am totally impressed with you, but then again you never cease to amaze me with all your talents! Congrats girl! Soon you'll be running marathons!

Woo hoo Cleo! That's great! I still have a lot of trouble running for some reason. Did you do it on the treadmill?

Thanks so much for the positive oomphies!

It's no big but I was soooooo excited.

I ran on my treadmill and even managed to not fall off. Anyone who knows me knows that chewing gum and walking off the treadmill means I fall off the treadmill and swallow my gum.

Way to go! I tried it and it still hurts my knees and ankles. Oh well, maybe soon.

I love the new picture! You are such a cutie patootie! There is no way that you are old enough to have four children.

Thanks so much, Deb! Maybe if I ever fall off I'll take pictures. Then I could be the humor portion of the program too. *l* Seeing me run is the horror portion...

{{{mom}}} Look who's talkin' about being all hottie patootie young n thinnie. I am realllllllly careful and am having to constantly take long, slow strides and check my form. I'm only going 3.5 miles an hour, which is uber slowness. I am totally not going to be running any distances anytime soon. I was so surprised that at my weight I can even do it without causing the neighbors' houses to shake or getting shin splints!
