Well today is the day I restart. I almost postponed it again, but there is never a better time than the present.
As of this morning I am 291.7 pounds up 16.5 pounds from my low on September 3rd.
While I have taken a most circuitous route along my weightloss journey, I keep plodding along and even when I give up ground I don't give up much. The inspirational people around here are what helps keep me going forward. I have been far from perfect, I have fallen off the wagon more times than I can count. ButI will never resign myself to failure.
I was looking at pictures from Gabrielle's christening yesterday, and I could see a definite improvement from my before pics, which happen to be from my son's christening 18 months ago. I am nowhere near goal but I am better off than I was back then.
Funny sidenote: my wife would not allow me to wear the suit which I was wearing in my before pic, because it looked ridiculously big on me.
If I had never strayed and been strict to the plan since I began, I would be at goal today. But if it takes me longer than everyone else, so be it. Every day I lose, and every day I exercise is a step to a longer healthier life. It took me 20 years to gain 150 pounds and if I take 2 or 3 to lose it, I think I'm doing pretty well.
