Haha, well the end of the month came (and the 50,000 word deadline). I missed the mark (started over a week late), but I have decided that I am going to continue writing it.
The project is really a quantity over quality thing. They encourage you not to refine it, but to push its word count up as quickly as possible. Because I am a perfectionist in most things, I cannot accept that (which probably had a lot to do with my not meeting the deadline).
I am plugging away at it still, but I do admit to being a little focused on some other things. I already know my New Year's Resolution will be to write at least 20 hours per week, so it should be finished sometime next year with luck.
And of course you all get signed copies. Maybe I will send those out instead of Christmas Cards.
