Something I thought I would share.
My best friend is a sunday school teacher, and so just right up-front, this is a spiritual post and I hope I don't upset anyone but I really wanted to share it.
She was doing a lesson with a bunch of 8 year olds and she marked two points, a starting point, and an ending point. At the end point, she set a bowl of candy. Any of the kids who could jump from the starting point to the end point could get a peice of candy out of the bowl. She deliberatly made the jump impossible, but it looked possible to the kids. After several tries with each kid, they started to moan and complain and say "This is impossible! We can't jump that far!" so Jen said "Would it be possible for you to make it across if you had some help?" and all the kids said "Yah!" So one by one, she rode them piggy back on her back over to the ending point. All they had to do was say "I could really use your help getting there."
After each of them were over, ( having fun and hooting and hollering on the way, I'm sure she probably had a nice back ache, hee hee) she said this....
"We have to points in life. We have our starting point, and our ending point. A lot of times, we jump and jump and jump trying to make that ending point our goal but we never make it because we simply didn't think to ask God for help. All you need to do is ask."
I sat there for a moment and thought about all the things that I could apply that towards. My work, my life, my diet, etc... and it really made me smile. I hope that it makes some of you smile too.
