Ok, since I've received several emails asking to read the poem, I will post it for those who didn't sign up to send Christmas cards. (I send a poem every year with the cards I send out) Here it is, enjoy!
Merry~Bell Elf was beside herself
At the Christmas party last year
She sat by the window all alone
Depressed and lacking in cheer.
The other elves had called her names
And made her feel ashamed
They wouldn’t play with Merry~Bell
Because she was “too fat” they proclaimed
“It’s true,” she thought.
“I’ve let myself go, what am I to do?”
“Dieting makes me miserable,” she cried
“I need to find something new.”
Santa observed the whole situation
And spoke to friends at the ADBB
He was advised to give Merry-Bell Elf
A copy of DANDR to help start a new W.O.E.
Merry-Bell jumped on the low-carb wagon
Embracing the Atkins’ lifestyle ~ “heart and soul”.
This year she is healthy and full of life
The most popular Elf at the North Pole.
Santa’s Christmas party was a blast this year
As the Elves danced and sang with glee…
A much smaller and radiant Merry-Bell beamed
As she placed a “Special Star” upon the tree.
