Alright, so this is a controversial post but I am going to go ahead with it because it may (or may not) turn out to be helpful, both to myself and others.
I was very successful with Atkins in the past, but for over a year now my weightloss has been painfully slow. For the past 5 months, completely stalled. I have had everything checked out with the doc, I have tried varying cals, carbs, proteins, fats, exercise, water, vitamins, fat fasting, etc. I have managed to stay on the wagon but am very very discouraged at this point, and fear that I may go back to my old ways if something doesn't happen soon.
So, having said that, I am going to temporarily abandon Atkins and try the Slim in Six program -- exercise AND nutritional program. Yes, it is not the Atkins WOE which I do believe very deeply in... but something has changed for me and it is just not working right now. I have done lots of reading on SIS and decided it is HEALTHY and worth the try.
With the permission of the good folks in here, I would like to continue posting on this thread to update my progress, feelings, etc as I move away from Atkins (but, into something that I do feel is healthy). I hope this may benefit others struggling. The results could be lousy, and if that is the case, it could save someone else the heartache of jumping ship on Atkins for nothing. On the other hand, the results could be great. I in no way wish to discourage anyone from following the Atkins plan, in fact, I often encourage my loved ones to go for it (even though the results have stalled for me). I know Atkins is a great and healthy plan, but I KNOW there are others like me -- who just cannot seem to get the weight off no matter how hard or honest the attempts.
Please accept my request to continue posting about another plan (I will keep it on this thread ONLY). My aim is to compare the differences I've experienced from Atkins to the SIS nutrional WOE. Again, I assure everyone that I am in no way anti-Atkins. Just feeling a little desperate and am hoping to help someone else in my shoes, in some way. I would like to keep it in this forum because this has been my home and comfort zone
