  • I survived Christmas!

Hey all! How are you doing? I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I did choose to indulge my taste buds a bit too much on the 24th and 25th but I have decided not to beat myself up over the deal. I made the choice to do so...it was not on a "whim binge!" I thought before I put anything into my mouth and did not eat one thing out of "emotional stress." I am very proud of that. I have counter acted my few days of festive eating by being back on a strict routine of protein and veggies (basic induction) to bring my body back into a good spot and then I will go back to my pre-maintenance plan. Also, I have not missed a lick of exercise throughout the holidays, which feels good! Today I did 50 minutes of aerobic exercise as well as 40 minutes of weight training.

Well, thanks for letting me ramble. It is good for me to journal about my eating and my plan to stay on track. So...for those of you reading this thread, thanks for listening! I hope all of you stuck to what ever plan you had mapped out for yourselves to get through the holidays!

Oh yeah! Santa brought a digital camera, so maybe I will try and figure out how to post some before and after pics. Just so you all know I am for real and I really have lost over 100 pounds!

    God Bless!

Way to go, that is so cool that you stuck to your plan, congrats!! I can't wait to see those pics!! Wow I just read your siggy - 126.5 pounds that is so amazing, congratulations on your amazing success!!

I also did a really good job of sticking to plan, so I am also very proud . Thanksgiving was awful, so I firmly avowed it would be different this time, and i actually managed to lose a few pounds this week - so I was very happy!! I even exercised for 15 minutes on christmas day - I was so proud.

My fiance and I had to make "appearances" at a few different houses of his extended family, all of whom have not seen me in a long time. They all made a huge deal about how much weight I lost - I know most people enjoy this, but I could not stand the attention and wanted to run for the hills!! It was actually very emotionally stressful for me, I even got poked in the stomach as someone demosntrated how "skinny" I've become.. ahh!!! Anyway,, I'm just proud I stuck to the program despite being in an extremely uncomfortable situation (for me). I still need to work on how to take these "compliments" from people (they will always feel like insults to me - I will always feel like the 260 pound version of myself)

Anyway, I hope everyone else had a great holiday as well!

Congratulations to you both for surviving the festive season without slipups

I remember how it feels, Mary, to have people make you feel conspicuous with many fulsome comments about your weightloss, and you did well not to resort to old eating habits because of it.
You just have to make yourself believe they mean well !!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

Thanks for the encouragement . I'm glad you understand what I was talking about - most people think I should be thankful for the compliments and so I end up feeling like something is wrong with me. You worded it exactly right - it just makes me feel very conspicuous. I do know they mean well though, I'd just rather they didn't draw any attention to my weight problem - even if I am losing! Thanks again
