  • Veggie Question

Hello All I have a question. What the heck are "dandelion greens" - do they go by another word too?
We have something here that I always says looks like the leaves of dandelions, but its called Rugola.
    Is that the same???
    Thank you

    Re: Veggie Question

Dandelion's are little yellow flowers that are considered weeds here in the US, They come out in spring and are the evil access of lawns and a constant battle to gardeners. The leaves are edible, not like rugola at all. (when the flower go to seed they make a kind a puff ball the kids blow on and watch them fly away)
I wouldnt think you could find them in Norway now.

We have dandilions here in England also. Sometimes they are used to make wine etc. So I assuming we are talking about the same things.

Does it look like any or those Tamariah? I think it's like Arugla lettuce here and you can use it similarly to lettuce but I think Dandelion greens are somewhat different.
