I hope I haven't gained weight since I have been in a cast. My diet has consisted of Low Carb PB Sandwiches. Tomorrow I am going to try to make Linda SUes Country Cabbage Stew with the help of my kids. I am also going to throw out the LC Bread my husband bought me to force myself to eat something besides that. I need to learn to walk with this cast and crutches. The only thing that bothers me is the intense swelling.

First of all, , it can't be easy when you're laid up in a cast! Just take it day by day, and definitely get your kids to help you! You'll be back on your feet before you know it. I'm glad you're trying, sometimes, when the chips are down, that's really all you can do.

    Get better soon!

I hope you get better soon. When I broke my leg I had to have immediate surgery... and I was laid up in a cast for months... it was HORRIBLE! But the more I learned how to get around on my crutches... the better I got. But don't push yourself too hard! Or you might hurt yourself worse!

if the sweeling is cutting off circulation or making your cast feel tight call the doc. elevation of the foot should help some.

Enjoy the stew. Glad you are getting back on plan.

          Happy low carbing.

Look at the bright side. This is something you can give your kids grief about for the rest of their lives!!!!

When I was 11 or so, I accidentally stepped on my mom's foot (I was wearing wooden sandals) and broke her little toe. To this day she STILL teases me about it!! lol

I hope the swelling goes down, and that you're back on track soon.

Oh my limabean. What a set back. Give yourself a few days to get over the trauma and to get comfortable with the crutches. Then just think of the great upper body workout you will get hobbling around. :>
