Sharing a good compliment from Hubby

Last week was our anniversary. My husband told me "Not many guys can say their wives are better after 30 years, I must be very lucky"

If you knew him, you'd know he doesn't say those kinds of things. He is a guy of VERY little words, so I was very shocked and emotional that he said that.

He didn't want me to do Atkins. He tried to stop me and he worried all the time till he saw how it changed my life for the good. He saw a depressed fat woman turn into an energetic happy person. He saw a woman who stayed home and sat on the couch everyday start becoming involved in the community and state organizations. He saw a grandma who stayed home and cook start to take the grandkids to the park, zoo, soccer and swimming. He now has nothing but good things to say about Atkins. He tells everyone who engages in a conversation about weight. He is always telling people about the before me and the new me. It is kinda embarrassing, but it is very nice.

What a great man! I too, have a quiet, very fit, husband. It would blow me away to hear a compliment like that! I don't even know how whoopie-ding my hubby is about atkins. He is just keeping his mouth shut, I don't think he expects big results, little does he know, he is one of my biggest motivations! And congrats on the anniversary! over 30 years! Wow! And you're only 30 pounds away from your goal!? Double wow!

Stuff like that really gets me; especially when they are not vocal anyway about stuff like that. My Dad was like that too so if he said anything that was sweet or sentimental, you remember it forever (and it tears you us inside).

Must be a great feeling to hear that. He seems very proud of you! You've made him a believer!!

I think my husband will be like that too. He was rejecting the pure Atkins WOE, and was trying to get me to do the pseudo Atkins that the local nutrition centre was doig as a weight lsos program (basically low carb low fat), last year. and I was always getting frustrated with him. He's now coming around starting to believe this WOE since I've been back on full force ont he plan and he's realizing that eating the fat isn't a bad thing necessarily, as he previously thought.

That's so great about your husband though! Bet it makes you feel out of this world!

Awww...that's so wonderful!!! I remember those days when it seemed like he saw right through you. It was a wonderful time when he bought the clue, sat up and took notice of the new and better you. And now he's taking stock and appreciating all that you are. Now THAT is a wonderful anniversary gift. I'm SO happy for you!!!

That was so absolutely sweet of him, and Happy Anniversary! You deserve to hear things like that, you are a great woman, he obviously recognizes that.
