  • My Day 1 back on Atkins

I was really excited about re-starting this morning because after reading about how I need to make my weight loss goals more specific and to make my goals doable and in incriments that I can see myself achieving (Dr. Phil's book), I can finally see some light at the end of my tunnel.

I got really super specific than I ever have and I think that was and is my problem; I set my goals too high and so general, I didn't really have a realistic goal to look toward. I mapped it out and if I stay on plan, I can lose 30 lbs in 13 weeks and 60 lbs in 27 weeks--at a rate of 2 lbs a week! That is soooo doable! Of course, I am not counting the plateaus I might have but I am hoping I don't have any (fingers crossed!) and if I do, so what? I will keep going! But I am going to need all the support I can get from all you guys and I know that you guys will give it...right??? Of course you will! lol! If I do this, I will give myself a big, huge reward but don't know what yet.

Great attitude! I'm proud of you! As long as your reward is not that nasty refined food, you're going to do great!

Welcome back! Have you thought about giving yourself prizes for mini-goals that you've met? Some folks have created a special bank account where they paid themselves for every pound lost. Others have given themselves lip gloss or gotten pedicures or manicures for a certain amount of pounds lost. It helps to break up the long road and gives a good feeling of accomplishment!
