  • A new addition to our family!

    No, I'm not "with child."

We bought a new scale! Our old scale was a $5 spring scale from Wal*Mart purchased at the dawn of time. My husband and I were forced to do our weigh-ins at my mother's house (she has an awesome scale, like something that NASA would use). Well, yesterday, my mom tested my new scale against hers to see if they matched, and they did, so we were pumped.

Here is our little "baby": http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html...sin=B000BU94GU

It isn't time for my offical weigh-in so I'll just say that I stepped on it and it looks like I've had a great monthly loss! Real weigh-in will be on Sunday though. Husband did an official weigh and has gone from 310 to 297.4 so he is totally psyched and so am I. He's thrilled to be out of the 300's!

Now I have to try not to be chained to this scale.
No stats. Not weighing anymore ever. Will post "before and after" pictures when I want to. The end.

    Vigilance, not perfection.

I like it. Mine has a cork mat on it and is not digital.

    I like yours better

I have that same scale, LOL and I purchased it at WallMart last year. I love it but I do find that the black one gets far more 'dirtier' from all the sprays, baby powder etc. Think I'm gonna move it to the bedroom floor

Re: A new addition to our family!

i just bought a new scale a few weeks back.

ACTUALLY the first one i got at WALMART i had to return.
I found 3 out of 4 times of stepping on it gave me a ERROR
reading. (it was also 5 lbs higher then my old one and my
old one is exact to my doctors scale).

I ended up returning that and getting the digital weight watchers
scale for 29.99 at walmart so im pretty happy now. THIS one had
me in the same weight as my old one!

GOsh how every pound matters so much.
ALSO congratulations on a great weight loss start
to cool you and your hubby are doing this together!

Re: A new addition to our family!

Finding a good consistent scale is very important to our mental health while doing atkins lol!

I have a doctors scale that looks kind of like this: http://www.healthchecksystems.com/seca700.htm It's huge and takes up a lot of bathroom space, but I find it to be very consistent.. Unfortunately that also means when the numbers go up, I can't blame it on the scale lol!

Re: A new addition to our family!

So what have you named your scale?? Ohhhhh..c'mon!! If it's a member of the family it needs a name!!

I have two scales. A $5 thing I got at Target in 2004, and a digital "Tracy Austin" scale that I bought on clearance last summer. The digital one shows me as 15 pounds heavier, so I don't step on it very often. lol
