  • Now I'm painfully aware of how far I strayed

As many of you know I have fallen off the wagon too many times to count. Well this is the furthest that I have fallen, and today I am paying for it. I am in my second day of truly clean induction and I am about as sick with the induction flu as I have ever been. If I didn't know that this will go away I'd quit now. But wow is my withdrawal bad right now, I just want to crawl into bed and die (not really, but you know what I mean).

I do not want to go through this again.(almost like swearing off booze the day after a bender)
    Jim

Yes I'm eating a smore in the picture, how do you think I got so fat?

Jim, I have never done this on the board before, but I am going to give you an extremely manly and purely plutonic

As you said though, at least you know the "flu" will go away.

All the best, and I hope you start losing soon.

Re: Now I'm painfully aware of how far I strayed

        Jim,
<HUG>. You've been through a lot of struggles the past year with the fire and your baby girl and you've never given up. You will make it this time - you know the ropes and with each attempt you get stronger and more committed. We are all fighting this battle together.....When you need a lift, just holler.

Recently I was drowning in personal problems and what helped me was re-reading my journal and re-connecting with the reasons I wanted to get healthy and lose the weight. My visit to my 'old life' gave me the strength and determination to not look back but keep going forward. Don't dwell on the fact that you've fallen off the wagon...instead hang on and be grateful that you are back on and going forward. Many people fall and don't get back on. You are a winner and part of the ADBB family. We are all here for you!!!
        Starting Date 3/12/04 285/165/145 - F

Dedication gives wings to our dreams and keeps them in flight! In One Word...COMMITTMENT.

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

It is so tough to make that decision to start again and it takes a lot of resolve. I'm happy you came back! It can really be the hardest part of this woe, honestly--going right back on plan after a wagon fall/cheat...
No stats. Not weighing anymore ever. Will post "before and after" pictures when I want to. The end.

Well thanks for all of the encouraging words. A two hour nap helped tremendously. I hope I'm over the hump, and tomorrow or the next day is my up energy day. My knees are cramping a bit and I know it's not dehydration but it feels like that, some ibuprofen before bed should do the trick.

As usual it will be running, among other things. I still have my goal of twelve road races in 2006, which will include the half marathon that I missed last year due to my daughter.

No more fooling around, this is the year I make goal.

                            Jim You can do this!

I know what you mean about falling off, I fell off for pretty well a month in November/December, during the time when my mom came to visit and of course she went back to Canada about a week or so before Christmas, but when she was here she was baking butter tarts, and all these yummy things. She was not here that long, so we were rushing around trying to show her as much of this place as we could, and needless it was stressful and we were eating out different places, etc. I gained around 12 pounds or so, and I'm only now just finally lost pretty well much of what I had gained.

Its frustrating, and I understand what you are going through. You can do this though. You did it before last year. Put your mind to it. Tell yourself that there is no other way of eating, and if you don't eat this WOE then there are serious health risks associated with weight gain, etc.

You can do this Jim! Let us know if you need any more of our support and we are here for you if you do!
