read the ADBB FAQ about water and you will be guzzling it down cause you need water to lose weight!if that doesn't help you you need water to be healthy and not be dehydrsated wheich you are if you are only drinking a small amount of water on Atkins as the foods and the plan are a natural diuretic effect.

Oh, my I had this Problem when I first started I hated water and it made me sick YUCK. I strted putting lemon in it and drinking through a strw I also found cold water made me want to hurl so I drink Luke warm water now.

As for the Effects if you don't get enough water. Well think of it this way you are losing all this weight and your body needs to be able to flush all this fat out of you how does it do that, with lots and lots of water, if you are not drinking your water this fat flaots back around toxifying your body and can actually rediposit itseldf in your fat stores so drink up you don't want the fat to go back ya want it to come out HE HE!!!

Re: I am at a loss

I was totally disgusted by water when I started trying to up the ounces and I peed every 10-15 mins... no joke. Buuuut, I love it now... I crave water all the time. It wasn't easy for me, but I can honestly say that I just made myself drink the water. I hear a straw helps if you're really struggling with it... A lot of our drinking glasses/cups are 32 oz at my house (yeah, they're huge), so I'd just try to gulp one down in a reasonable amount of time... it was fairly rewarding. I knew that if I drank just TWO, I'd get 64 oz., which is not the 96 oz that would be optimal, but would far exceed what i was doing... if I drank just THREE then I'd get my 96 oz. (want to lose 100, so 8 oz X 4 (groups of 25 lbs) = 32; 32+64=96).

Big cups are daunting, but I swear they worked for me.

I love water now... especially really cold water. I was always the girl with the tiny bladder who came down with urinary tract infections... I drank 15 oz or fewer most days before this WOL, so if I did it, I really believe anyone can.
No stats. Not weighing anymore ever. Will post "before and after" pictures when I want to. The end.

        Vigilance, not perfection.

Re: I am at a loss

I cant remember who gave this tip, but it was useful to me at the start.

It was someone who worked on a computer most of the day and she/he said they had a sports bottle at their desk and made themself have a gulp of water every time they had to wait for a programme or webpage to load. That way it is surprising how often I reach out for my bottle and find it is empty without me realising I have been drinking so much!!

Re: I am at a loss

When I'm at work, its easier for me to drink my water. What I started doing is, aim to drink 1.5 litre bottle of water in the morning before lunch, and then 1.5 litres after lunch. What ends up happening now, is when I pour from my water bottle into my glass on my desk, I end up having 2 or 3 glasses in one shot. I believe the 1.5 litre takes about 8 glasses total (something like that). I end up finished my 1.5 litre bottle by around 11 a.m in the morning!!! lunch is at 1:30 pm! I just love drinking my water. It is motivating actually

Think of it as a way to help you lose! I believe it helps transport the fat cells out of your body as well, and also good for preventing dehydration.

Try to aim to drink a certain amount every day, by measuring it, like what I'm doing. Aim to drink 2 litres of water a day, then up it once you have that down pat.

Or better still....START A WATER DRINKING CHALLENGE!! hehe

Re: I am at a loss

I love drinking out of my water bottles! I really would rather drink from a water bottle than a drinking glass (I think it's because I have a small mouth and it fits better on the bottle and I can drink more water, faster)

I always have a water bottle with me. I have a 33.3 oz bottle on my desk and I fill it up in the morning and try to drink one before lunch, one after lunch and one in the evening. When I job I usually drink one during the work-out and then partial one on the way home. I find that if it is near me and easy to drink then I will drink it. But it has to be a concious decision to drink it. I have always had a lot of water during the day, but I'm supposed to drink about 90 oz a day and that is a bit of a challenge to accomplish every day.

                Cheers

Re: I am at a loss

I went through a rough patch too in the beginning. I don't know what changed but eventually I got over it. Now I crave water and rarely drink anything else. I switch it up a lot, with ice, luke warm, hot, and sometimes I add lemon slices for a little flavor.

In the evening I like a hot cup of water with lemon in it. Yummy and very relaxing!

Re: I am at a loss

Can someone post up the technical reason(s) why drinking more water helps one lose fat? Is it that your body uses more engery processing it?

Yes, LC WOE does have a natural diuretic effect so you will need to drink more, but if you do not...how does it slow your weight loss? I don't quite buy the 'flushing out the fat' explainations...does not seem to make much sense. I still drink my water, but would be more motivated if I knew why.
