  • frustrated again

    I started Atkins Jan 7th
    at 325. I am still 315. I dont cheat, I am in ketosis
    Mild to moderate. I drink my water. I am doing 20 minutes or more on the treadmill. I am trying to increase the time without re hurting my knee. I am moving around more instead of staying on one place. I really want to get out of the 300's already.
    Yesterdays menu

    3 hardboiled eggs with butter
    4 bacon
    tea with cream and no sugar


    lunch
    2 wendy bacon cheese burgers, no roll, extra mayo,
    Side salad 1 cup with mayo type dressing

    Supper
    1 1/2 cheese burger
    half cup of green beans

    snack
    bacon

    during the day 2 more teas with cream and no sugar
    1463 cal. 122 fat, 14 carbs 79 protein

    I know I need more carbs

    I know I am losing inches at least around my waist, my pants are loose
    but I need the scale to move a bit
    and today is a sad day for me, Mom died today 4 years ago and I am almost ready to go eat what ever

    A couple of things.

    First off stay away from the tea, tea is not allowed on Induction.
    Second, be very wary of the "mayo type dressing", as you have no idea whats in it. Especially if you cant get a chance to read the label as its in a restaurant. I would also be wary of any types of mayo supplied in a burger bar.

    Also how much water are you drinking? As you dont state that.

    Btw, i am very sorry that today is such a sad day. I can empathise and and want to pass my thoughts on to you.

      Thank you for your fast response
      Tea is one ofthe few thigns I still enjoy, Ok I wont have any more.
      I am drinking at least 6 pt bottles of water a day, often more.
      The mayo type dressing has one carb in it, it claims
      I was trying to up my fat, because I thought I needed it to lose weight.

        Could you get some home cooked real food, instead of burgers?

        By that I mean, steak or pork chops cos then you are definitely knowing what is included.

          I would try eating more veggies (your 3 cups every day), and if you have Wendy's burgers, you don't need extra mayo, as they are really fatty to begin with. (Mayo is fine, but you don't have to add extra if you don't want to).

          Cream can stall some people...I would take Richt's advice and cut out the tea.

          I'm sorry today is a sad one for you. (((((Hugs)))))) Try to hang in there! Your Firm Believers are rooting for you...and so are other people on the forum as well!

            sorry about this anniversary and the feelings yo arer having. How about doing something fun in Mom's memeory to remember all the happiness you shared with her> I know May 25th I will be hitting golf balls with my dad's words echoing in my miond about how bad my form is and how much further the ball would go if I learned to hit it correctly instead of stepping into my tshot.

            Now back to your Atkins. have you looked into satisfying just your hunger when you eat? by that I mean eat one Wendy's burger,have your veggies with it and then if you are still hungry go order the other burger and eat it. Same with the other meals.

            With appetite suppression of ketosis many folk over eat their Atkins because the foods are legal and society says it is meal time. Now is the time to learn your hunger and control your portions. Atkins is portion control through carb control because Dr Atkins knew with the appetite suppression of the ketogenic plan we would not need to feed blood sugar hungers and could consentrate on learning our real hunger and use that as the braking mechanism for our eating.
            I know when I started I needed the triple but now just a jr does it for me. If you are going through the drive through get yourself a lunch cooler and then you can save the rest of the food for later if you get hungry. Knowing you have it and can zap it in the microwave can be very reassuring as you test this hunger thing.

            After you have drunk all your needed water you can enjoy some caffeine free tea per Dr Atkins induction rules in chaptere 18 of DANDR read the FAQ about water and see if why water is important for weight loss. Our own Bren broke her stall just by upping her water back in 2003. for moths we called her the water queen as she shared her knowledge about what water does for weight loss.

            Since the knee is the issue have you looked at some nonimpact exercise like pilates or yoga too? increasing the time spent exercising will burn more of your stored body fat as fuel too.

            I know how happy you are going to be getting into 200erville and it will happen.

              ((((((hugs)))))) On April 19 it will be 3 years since my mom had passed away. It is a difficult day for me everyday. I was only 15 when I lost her. But I must agree with 2 big... do something to celebrate all the good memories you made with her. Every year I go and buy a new teddy bear (she was obsessed with them!) and keep it on a shelf in my room. That and i plant Impatients around the house because those were her favorite flowers.

              As for your stalling... I believe everyone hit the nail right on the head! Hope you feel better!

                I think you been given very good advice from others
                on the eating!

                BUT plz dont eat away your pain.....GO OUT AND walk! READ
                a book, soak in the tub! We have to learn and teach ourselves
                knew habits to handle hard times.

                  Thank you everyone for your support and advice
                  I didnt eat for my emotions, I walked and cleaned
                  Tomorrow I will not drink my tea and increase my carbs and cal count and see if that helps
