  • I'm Not Hungry !!!

    Hey Gang.

    I wanted to pose this question and see what you all have to say. I am a week into induction. I know I've lost 5 pounds and 16.75 inches but I promised myself not to weigh again until next week.

    ANNNNyway, I am NOT hungry and the thought of eating something is really kind of disgusting to me right now. I realize that later I may get hungry but for now I am not. I have gone way longer than 6 hours since last eating. I've thought I could eat a bite of turkey or chicken or cheese and just none of it seems appetizing. The thought of food is making me almost sick. Last night we had hot wings. I could normally polish off about 20 of those things but last night I ate 7 and I was full. What do you when you feel like this???

    I have been drinking water and crunching ice (my bad habit) all day. I did go out this morning to take my daughter to the doctor and wanted so desperately to get something from Starbucks- (I miss my lattes)- but resisted. Even when my daughter asked if she could get a hot cocoa from there. I stopped and got her one but NOTHING FOR ME..

    Anyway, sorry to ramble on but I guess I wanted to see what you all think. Do you get to a point where you just aren't hungry. I mean I have plenty in reserves if you know what I mean....

    I had that same feeling week two of my induction; so, I just ate something small even if I did not necessarily feel hungry. Maybe a little Tuna heated with butter with a little lettuce with it. I think the cool lettuce helps my 'nautious feeling'.

    Remember: The first rule of induction says "...Do not skip meals or go more than six waking hours without eating." So, try to eat something, even if it is a small amount.

    BTW: I did lose that feeling of being almost nautious at the thought of food. I try to 'mix up' my meals with some different vegetables. There are some great recipes on the site to help out.

    I am far from an expert, I just started at the end of January, so maybe someone else has a different idea.

      Well don't go too long without eating or your body will decide you're trying to kill it and then start hording all your food and water and your scale will then tell you nothing's coming off.

        I finally ate some tuna and a bite of cheese. It was just so different to not feel "starved".

          I wish I wasn't hungry. Atkins is the only thing that has ever curbed my appetite, but 10 months in and I still always feel like I could start binging on food any second if I let my guard down... Anyway as long as you're eating a healthy amount of food every day I would enjoy that liberation while you can!

            Eat when you are hungry. I had those feeling at first too. about not being hungry. It will more than likely pass, my feelings did.
            somedays I eat more and other days I don't eat as much. seems to even out.
            Try to relax and enjoy your new WOE.
