Since I was busy recuperating from outpatient surgery last week, I missed noticing that my 2 year anniversary on Atkins was on 2/22.
Last year at this time, 2/22/2005, I weighed 272. Last Wednesday, I was probably around 254 or so, but this past weekend, I had major whooshie dropping about 4-5 lbs over 2-3 days. Some of that was likely water retention from the surgery and associated swelling, as well as weight loss from having no appetite after surgery.
So my overall weight loss for this last year of Atkins was around 23 lbs, which is kind of disappointing, but I was never and have never really been off Atkins nor cheating more than one meal. I have been a slow loser and have had long stalls of little weight loss, but where I've known I've been losing inches. I also started having major gall bladder issues a month ago, resulting in its removal last week, so I am wondering if this was somehow stalling my weight loss as well. I guess I'll have to wait and see.
My total loss so far is 98 lbs. As no other diet has ever worked for me, I am really proud of that so far, and how much better I look and feel, and how much healthier I feel (and I have numbers to prove it too) and am eating. I have Atkins (and ADBB) to thank for all that.
I still have a long weight-loss journey to go, but I'm sticking with Atkins for Life.
Many thanks also to the many members of the Century Club for helping me get through these past 2 years! I couldn't have done this without you!
Hugs,
