  • Is anyone else ready for spring?

I am anxious for nicer weather. What are your plans for spring?

I am going to start running.
I am going to repaint the exterior of my house.
I am going to play basketball with my two year old. He's getting a hoop for Easter.
I am really just going to enjoy every day.

Can you tell I dislike winter?

I was down to 175 in 2007 and I will get back there again!

Re: Is anyone else ready for spring?

Spring has come to LA, even though it rained last night. There are blossoms on the nectarine and plumb trees. New growth all over my roses. My tortoises are all out of their dens and walking around. For LA its still cold, it was 49 degrees last night, but that will change as the month goes on.

For spring 2006 I'm going to:
        Paint my bathroom and bedroom
Go outside walking 4 times a week
lose another 10 - 20 lbs (i'm on extended induction)
Lord, my dream is to lose this weight and to be healthier.

Re: Is anyone else ready for spring?

I am not a winter person. There is nothing I like about it. I've been ready for spring since the first day of autumn. Although we had a mild winter here, it is now snowing and acting like beginning of winter. I have arthritis, so cold means more pain to me.

In the spring I spend as much time as I can outdoors. I love to picnic, go to the lake, sit on playground and watch my grandkids play, go for walks - talk with people who are doing outdoor activities. I like to listen to the birds and children laughing. I love to take a drive and enjoy the trees and smell of the season. I like to barbecue outdoors and listen to the spring rain fall. I am ready!!!

68 degrees in Lost Angelesleeze today. The sun is out (after it rained all night) The plumb and nectarine tree are blooming at the office. My sweet peas are up and I had my first bouquet last week. I planted my tulips way too late this year, but they will be ready for next year.

Lord, my dream is to lose this weight and to be healthier.

Re: Is anyone else ready for spring?

Becky your description of spring got me fired up this morning. That's what I'm feeling. I can't wait for warmer weather. I'm just like you, I anticipate spring as soon as Autumn is done.

Odille, It is so funny to think that you are going into Autumn. How was your summer?
You look great in your new picture!

Sarah, I'm with the running outside. I'm waiting for warmer weather to take my little guy on some runs in his new jogging stroller.

Patty and Barbde, I'm completely and utterly jealous!

I can't wait for Spring/Summer. I have so many things I would like to do - hopefully I can accomplish most of them:

Paint house and put on new roof
                      Remodel my kitchen/dining room
Run at least 5 times a week - outside!!!
                      Work in my flower gardens
                      BBQ
                      Ride my mountain bike
                      Do lots of camping!

I am so excited for the nice weather! I wish it would hurry up and get here - oh yeah I want it to stay lighter longer in the day. Day light savings time is in a few more weeks - yeah!!!

                      Happy Spring everyone!

Re: Is anyone else ready for spring?

Michele, we are in a suntropical area so summer is hot (low 30s) and very humid (75-85%). Winter is not really cold here, we came up here 3 yeasr ago from Canberra where we had real winters (-7 deg Centigrade mornings) so I'm not feeling ti yet. I have acclimatised a bit though, I now occassionally wear a jumper in winter! The first 2 years I got around in T shirts and people gave me funny looks, they thought I was a tourist!
