Did I just read that your wedding is next week? Yeah! Just remember, we want all the wedding details, and pictures. How exciting. I hope you have the day you have dreamed about. You have worked really hard and I hope you enjoy every minute of your special day.

Thank you so much! It's been stressfull lately planning everything and since I faltered a bit and gained a little of my weight back I have a hard time not constantly beating myself up over it, as hard as I try not to. Instead of making healthy choices I was trying to "quicken things up a bit" before the wedding. BIG mistake!! a part of me can't wait till the wedding is over so the pressure will be off and I can just lose weight at a steady, if slow, pace!! Even if I didn't lose the 100 pounds I wanted to, I am still much healthier and I have to keep remembering that! Either way, I wouldn't have come as far as I have without the ADBB!!!! Still, a big part of me wonders why in the world I bought a strapless gown!!

I can't wait to share some pics and some details with everyone!! If you're interested, here are a few pics of some elements of my wedding I ccan share with you : D

    Here's my invitation:

I'm pretty much using the mickey/minnie icon from the invitation as a theme and plastered it on all my wedding favors/programs etc..
There are more pictures of my favors and miscellaneous wedding things on my photobucket site if you're interested you can take a look around:

Anyway I won't bore you anymore with my pictures. We leave this Thursday, April 20th, for Walt Disney World and will be there until May 2nd, then May 4th - 6th we will be going to San Francisco.

I'm nervous because I'll be in DisneyWorld for 4 days before my wedding, and I know from exeperience I can gain a lot of weight in 4 days if I screw up, and I do need to fit into my dress lol !! Gotta be careful.. can't wait till the honeymoon though lol! I have to learn to relax.. Anyway, thank you so much for your post!!

      Mary,

How does your sweetie feel about the weight loss? Has he freaked because you have changed your looks so much? I am curious because sometimes I think my husband tries to sabatoge me.

I'm so thankful because he's been on atkins the entire time I've been on it. In fact, he's sort of the one who introduced me to it a few years ago. He's done amazing!! He's so sweet though, even at my heighest weight he always told me how beautiful I was. He supports my weight loss, but never tries to make me feel like thinner means more beautiful, if that makes any sense. But we both just feel so much better about ourselves that it's easy to want to keep going.

I have to be careful, because I know if/when I go off a diet or way of eating, I want him to be off of it too, and I have to watch myself because it is EASY to try to sabatoge our loved ones.. I don't think it's a malicious thing, just human nature, just like the old expression "misery loves company", but maybe your husband doesn't realize what he's doing. Have you talked to him about it?

Here's an old before/during of the both of us, although I've actually gained back a little of the weight since this pic.. *sigh*.. oh well, I'm still trying..

          Mary,

Wow, the changes in both of you are amazing. I have talked to him about it and he denies that he is doing it. He is about 300 right now so he and I are like you and your sweetie (or pretty close). He needs to lose weight for his health, the doctor has told him so because bad hearts are common in his family, but he has no desire to step away from the chocolate and candy. So, while he says he knows he needs to lose weight and so do I, he doesn't really act on it. He tells me that he isn't as heavy as me as an excuse. So, I guess I will have have to lose some on my own and then maybe he will be supportive. I think he is afraid of change cause he married my heavy and he told his cousin back when I was doing well that it made him nervous because it meant he had to lose weight too. He doesn't have too for me at all either so I think he is battling the food ideas in his head really. Ok, probably too much information, but since no one knows me here, I guess I can be honest.

You guys are so cute! Congrats, and I'm sure you're wedding will be perfect. You'll be a beautiful bride.

Wedding plans are so stressful, and when you're planning a big wedding, it tends to take over your life. You'll be able to relax soon. I went to San Fran for my honeymoon also. You'll have a great time.

I know exactly what you mean. I think facing change is even harder for guys then it is for us women. Most guys I know are perfectly content with their lives the way they are, no matter what their lives are like.

There's a term we sometimes use on this messageboard called "The atkins glow" - when someone's lost some weight and in their "during" pictures they look happy, more healthy, and just radiant. I bet after a while you're going to get that look, and your husband is going to see how good you're feeling, and it might make him want to change as well. At the very least, maybe he will stop trying to sabotage your efforts. And feel free to be as honest as you want here - we are all in this together!

Miss Phode Thank you so much for your kind words It's hard to feel beautiful when I'm still Plus-size, but hopefully when the day arrives I won't be so hard on myself! That's cool you went to San Francisco for your honeymoon.. I live in california and yet I've never been up there, so I'm really looking forward to it!

Mary.. your pictures are awesome. You both have changed drastically!!!! You are going to look soooo pretty in your strapless gown. You deserve this. Have a wonderful time and try to enjoy every minute. Don't stress!

P.S. I just bought the supplement L-Glutamin for sweet cravings. I can't believe how well it works. You might want to take some on your trip. You take it between meals to help with cravings. It just might help while in Disney. It is hard to smell all those carby things and stay strong.
