  • Hi friends!

    Hi friends! Wow... my first real post. I'm Kara and I'm here because I need to lose at least 100 lbs. I'm overwhelmed at the thought but I know I can do it. Anyway.... I've seen alot of your pictures and I'm very impressed. Looks like I'm in the right place.

    Well.... I think I messed up on induction. So I guess I restarted yesterday. I didn't cheat, I just didn't read DANDR as thoroughly as I should have. But.... I'm on the right track now.

    At this point my biggest problem is being a glutton. I can abstain from the forbidden food it seems, without much problem. I just make a porker of myself with the allowed food. So.... I guess I need to shrink my stomache and get some real willpower. I had a bad attack of the munchies while watching LOST last night and I overate instead of just having a small snack.

    So.... any tips or pointers would be warmly welcomed. I would love all of your friendship and support. So hello to everyone!

    Welcome to our CC family!

    Lots of us made mistakes to start with, well done you for re-reading DANDR and working out what you were doing wrong

      Hi Kara,

      We all make mistakes some time or another. No worries

      When you are watching T.V. try grabbing a cup of veggies (of course if you havent already ate your 2-3 cups) or maybe a piece of lunch meat and a very cold bottle of water. Also, I tend to have a few green olives when I feel like snacking and it cures the whole snacking mood.

        Hi Kara,

        Welcome to our little corner of the world. I'd say the water is probably your first line of defense against overeating. If you think you're going to munch, grab a HUGE glass of water and sip it slowly to see if you can pass up the eating opportunity. Also, the habit of eating in front of the tv was one of my downfalls. I'd "forget" and keep on eating long after I was really full. And DANDR says, "only eat 'till you're full"

        Good luck with this new way of eating (WOE) and way of life (WOL).

              Welcome to the ADBB! It takes a while to find the balance of eating to satisfy your hunger, but still losing weight. With atkins you will find that balance with a little time and effort. You'll do great!!
