Phew! Last night, this only being my 3rd day into induction, I met a challenge... we went to see the DaVinci Code last night, and I'm a huge "Gotta have popcorn" at the movies kinda girl. Of course, as usual, my body wanted to say "You're only a couple days in, just have some, it'll be fun.." but I think for the first time in my life, my priority lay in the right place, and it just wasn't worth it to me to cheat.

Here's to many many hundreds more no-cheat days...

I agree. I always feel so strong and empowered when I say "no thanks" to something I shouldn't be having. The way I look at it, there's always something better to eat.

Good for you for resisting temptation!

Yeah... good for you! I know that is one test I'm going to have to face tonight. I hope I do as well as you. I was thinking of going prepared. I thought I'd bring some jicama and diet rite. By the way.... What did you think of the movie?

              Re: Hurdle cleared

The movie dragged, not sure why, but it did. It was pretty true to the book, maybe a little rearranged at the end for small plot lines, but I'm really not sure why it just seemed to take forever... The only thing I can think of is that in the book, one of the things that drove you to keep reading, is because it would finish a chapter and jump to another plot line, then back, so you knew you had to keep reading to find out what happens next, and I don't think that concept worked for the movie...

              PS, what is Jicama?!

WOOOWOO!!! I did the same thing!!! No popcorn, though I did have a diet coke during the movie. I figured that was "treat" enough.

                Yay!

(sidenote: how did you like the movie? I was TOTALLY dissapointed how they portrayed Sophie. She was much smarter in the book and they made her out to be a bit dumb in the movie)

I agree with you there. They really didn't do as good of a job as they could have. I think I could have re-read the book before the movie was over too, with as long as it dragged

Yeah... after seeing it I was a bit disappointed. The end really threw me. I didn't think it was a bad movie, it just didn't hold to the same standard of the book. And.... My hubby didn't read the book first so he was confused for the whole first hour.

But... Jicama is a vegie we can eat. I can find it here already cut in chunks in the salad section in containers where the precut vegies are. I somtimes sprinkle a little cinnamon on it. It satisfies my need for a crunchy snack. It doesn't have much flavor but I like it.
