  • New member lurking around.

    My name is Tanya and I have as of this morning 110 pounds to get to my personal goal. I currently weigh in at 255 (just three days ago I was 263!! Love those water weight pounds, lol).

    I want to get down to 145. It will be a HUGE deal for me if I can make it to ONEderland. I'm basically taking things slow--like 5 pounds at a time. I'm afraid if I start looking at the big picture too fast, I'll get freaked out and say--WHERE'S THE CAKE.


    Anywho, how do I join in and what sort of things do you guys have set up in here to join?

    Welcome!!! I have only been here since the 15th. I just started looking around and reading lots of post. I found some great tips! If I can help you in any way, please feel free to let me know. And congrats on your loss already!!! Great Job!

      lol, there is SOO much stuff in here to read through. Who knew a place could have so many forums and threads all in one spot and they are all so full of stuff to read.

      Thanks for the welcome and awesome job on your losses. I have to get my own stats into my siggy soon.

        Hi Meena!

        You can do it, it's achieveable.

        One tool you will require (as a century club member) is patience. Patience can get you through a lot. Patience doesn't come easy, but it can be your friend!

          Hey dave--and thanks. It's so hard to sit and take weight loss day to day, but in the end, that's what we have to do and when we look back we say, "That wasn't so bad!" lol

          I was reading through your blog and I liked your entry on why atkins isn't more popular. I happen to think that the reason atkins is not as popular as one might think is because it works. Imagine the giant dieting industry losing billions--trillions, of dollars in sales because all of a sudden, plus size people have found a solution to help them lose weight.

          They like their money and they use it to confuse us. I was one of the people they confused. I've been on every single diet you can imagine--and this one is the only one I've ever been on and can honestly say I'M NOT HUNGRY AND AM LOSING WEIGHT. That is a huge deal when you are talking weight loss. The only reason I haven't tried it sooner is because I bought into all that nonsense thrown at us my the media and other programs.

          However, now that I am on Atkins, I realize I was dupped by a diet industry that makes more money off me if they work hard to keep me fat.

          I refuse to be victimized anymore.


          Anyway--just thought I'd share.

            I think and feel the exact same thing.

            Everything you say is 100% correct.

            That's why we should work hard to make this WOL work!

            I don't think it will be too hard, now we know the real truth of it all!

                  It's nice to meet ya. Our stats are almost exactly the same. We have a long way to go but we can get there together! I hope we can have alot of fun doing it here together!

                    You can do it. My stats are just like yours and Chubbrubbkara. I started my last induction at 262 and went down to 240 and quit. Please don't be like me and quit. I restarted again, I will not weigh myself because i was one of those obsessive weighers and let me tell you the scale will go up and down. It defeats me. Keep telling yourself its one pound at a time, and you got to get thru the first 10 pounds to get to the 20's and etc. I keep telling myself its also physics, calories, exercise, what you take in and what you exert. If you do the right equation, eventually the result has to be there. Time being the biggest effort, but it WILL happen for you like the success stories we are reading for motivation.

                      Forgot to say........If you are not using fitday.com , try it. This makes this whole journey more like a huge scientific experiement and its has really been helping me, I wish I'd have done it last time. Probably would have been able to see from the outside better. HTH, Lj

                        Ya know I just looked at the title of "New members lurking around" Don't be a LURKER...come on in, the waters fine.
