Hello, I am on day 3 of Induction. When I logged back in, my frontpage said I had not been here since sometime in november, and I was wondering where the time goes, and how could it have been that long. But yep, it made sense. Takes a thickheaded person awhile to wake back up. So I have a few goals for myself. One is to do fitday each day. My average totals for the 3 days are 69, 6, and 25. I have to work on that. Friday pay day and shopping day. I have discovered today that looking at recipes made me quite hungry, so I need to do simple right now.I tried last time around to keep food in the house, UNHEALTHY food for my kids. This time, I am not doing that. That sabotaged me a couple days starting this week. Its not a risk I am willing to take, If it is not in the house I cannot eat it late at night.

My kids are pudgy, they don't need carbs and I will try my best to keep good veggies and fruit for them instead of junk. I never bought much pop/soda, and now I have switched everyone to sugar free and pushing ice water. It has to be a whole lifestyle change, somthing you cannot stop, or you will be in the same shape you started at. Just the facts to face, I won't ever be able to eat carbs with abandon and probably they won't either. They are boys, 17 in a month and 10 in october. I'm divorced and I so have my hands full. The water is another goal, and reading posts daily. I work with a large man 450+, honestly, we fed off of each other. Ate terrible together, and now he is trying to start this also. Variety is a key for me. My birthday was saturday. Fitday told me, to reach a goal of losing 100 pounds in one year, i needed to lose 1.6 lb a week. It actually broke it down into an amount that does not sound impossible. My goal is by my next birthday to have done that. Last time around the scale defeated me, I'm choosing to not step on them for awhile, and use measurements and clothes until I feel like whatever that number is, it won't defeat me. I have got to exercise. I swam this week , did some water aerobics, and I work 10 hour days five days a week. Fitday is very cool, it has catagories for work. ROFL, they had one that said Trip to outhouse and back. I need to find an ab challenge to join. Its good to be back, thanks for the forum to share. Lisa

Welcome Lisa! So glad you're back. I too am strugglin' with the exercise. I'm hoping they do the ab challenge again in June. Drink your water and stay focused. It sounds like you really know your triggers...awareness is KEY! Check in with the water challenge too! It will really help you get that water down.

      Re: restarting again

The best part of your story is getting proactive and doing something for yourself! It's inspiring.

My own kids are a bit younger than yours. My oldest is almost 8. While my two boys (almost 8 and 6) are normal weight, my daughter (almost 3) is overweight for her age. Last time we went to the dr., she said that my daughter was 20 pounds overweight. There is no way in this huge thing we call an Earth that I want my daughter to repeat my life struggle with obesity. That was a wake up call for me. I knew from that visit that I had to get this thing under control myself in order to be able to help her.

Since I've started Atkins, my whole family is eating healthier. Fruits and whole grains have replaced candy and cookies. All you can do is lead by example and your kids will follow you.

Way to go on your new life!

        Hi Lisa!

Glad you're here! I know how you feel. I have lots of junk here at home too. Since I've been on Atkins I've had to adjust meals and everything and in turn my hubby and son are eating healthier too. So good luck this time around. You can do it! Here's to a skinnier, healthier Lisa

          Benandhallesmom, Meena-Beena, and ChubbrubbKara,

Thankyou so much for your words of encouragement. I have decided to turn my living room into an excercise room. We put the "fun" in dysfunctional here. Hoping we can exercise together. Older son in training for football, younger son, needs to exercise. I'm hoping this summer to take time with him more in this area too. I need it. Lets see, Day 6, I have no hunger. Do you think that the time you eat is important. Some say yes, some say no. I get up at 6 during the week but do not get even remotely hungry until 930- 10. That is when I eat, then i eat lunch at 12, snack at 3, and dinner, depends, 8-10 ish. I was up all night with young son, he was puking, and i had nothing i could do for him. No fever, no other pain, just stomach ache and vomiting. Better today, although i cannot get him to eat. Its 220 ive had 32 oz of water and I am not remotely hungry. Shorts i just bought last weekend, falling off me. YEA. When i am hungry i have a Roasted chicken. I have done fitday everyday and my percentages are good. I'm glad about that.

I hope for each one of our continued sucess. I vow to make it thru a clean induction. My only problem this week was one day, I had too much crystal light, I counted it all as carbs, but never went above 20. My goal is to weigh myself when i can fit into special dress.

          Happy Scales, Lj
