  • Disney question for us big folks

We may be planning a family trip to Disney next winter, and I'm in a cold sweat about being too big for the rides. I tried looking it up on one of their websites, but the only size limits I could find were the height regulations for kids' rides. Can anyone tell me where to go to find the weight limits for the rides there? Has anyone had any experiences with this recently?

This will probably be a once-in-a-lifetime trip and I don't want to embarass my kids. Also, I love roller coasters! Now that my kids are big enough to ride them, I want to do it, too!

i just happened across this question. i am not a member of the cc and neither is ttdriver but she has been to disney just recently and she might be able to give you some first hand knowledge for what you are asking. you might want to pm her as i don't know if she will see this otherwise.

Just call Disney and if they don't know the answer right away, they will find out (It's company policy). I used to work for the Mouse!

PS - I just noticed that I'm about your size and I fit (size 22 and shrinking) - our size might be big for a woman but not for a man. I'd guess that you'll fit!

Also by next winter... no telling how much you'll have lost by then!

We just went to Universal and I am 5'10, 260lbs and a size 20 - 22 and *just* fit - it was a real squeeze and I almost didnt fit on one of the rides with higher arm rests, but like I said, I *just* got in. Be ready to squish yourself, and I know what you mean about the embarrasment factor, I was embarassed when i had to sit in the test seat outside the ride to see if I would fit.

        Hope it helps.

Re: Disney question for us big folks

          Hi!~
I have a question dear.. this winter or next winter?

I'm going off the philosophy that a healthy weight loss is 2 pounds a week. being that we're in the CC Club, we'll average just a slight bit higher, especially at first. So I figure 2.5 pounds a week in the long run (though I go by 10 average a month cuz some weeks you don't show, and then the next you show 5) etc. If it's this winter, if you mean November/December, you could safely assume that if you haul ***, ( by that I mean cheat free and drink your water) you can and WILL be 50-60 pounds lighter by Nov/Dec. that's a LOT. It always comes off the fastest at first, and that's where it's gonna count for you.

If you mean next winter as in the year after this winter, you're gonna be so tiny that you're going to laugh that you were even concerned.

You've got your motivation!!! Now use it!!
