  • 2 Weeks is Over

Ok, so I just did my 2 week weigh in, and I am a bit bummed! But I mean I did lose, so why should I be bummed out?!?

I just thought it would be more! No, I am not checking my inches yet... maybe I sould start!

I have lost 7.5 pounds so far! Why is it so slow this time! What else should I do? And then my husband STILL is not losing... well I am reading the book for him, to try and figure it out!

I am still positive even if! At least my scale is going down!!!! Right?

    Re: 2 Weeks is Over

I caved and weighed in too cuz I still can't fit my pants confortably and was worried I was going in the wrong direction. It's been a couple weeks for me too. my husband and I have both lost around 6-7 pounds, but for some reason I jumped up 5 pounds and I'm extremely swollen, especially around the feet.
I understand the frustration, but maybe give it 2 more weeks, and make sure you're not drinking diet soda/reg. soda, and drink a LOT of water.
Don't cheat, just increase your water. I'm trying to cut back my Pepsi One habit and drink a lot more water instead, and I'm going to make sure I get 128 oz minimum ( that's just 4 one liter bottles) every day.. keep on working on it, do not give up yet, just keep trying.

Hey Tirtle Baby...7.5 pounds is AWESOME in such a short time! Don't get bummed. Just think if you hadn't been doing anything for two weeks, you may be UP a couple of pounds. You are headed in the right direction and that's what counts.

Maybe try posting your husbands menu in the "Review my Menu" forum. Lots of people there can help you out. You are doing great! Keep it up.

I agree, 7.5 pounds is awesome. I started at 281 (my second time around as well) and I "only" lost 9 pounds during induction, so that's pretty comparable to what you lost, considering I started higher.

You're doing great! If you're patient, the weight will come off!
No stats. Not weighing anymore ever. Will post "before and after" pictures when I want to. The end.

As long as the scale is moving down, I say celebrate and be happy. In my two years of doing Atkins, there have been months of no losses, big losses and small losses. But every loss is better than a gain. Take your measurements. This has been the thing that has kept me motivated in times when the weight loss has been less. Hang in there, it is sooooo worth the effort and remember that the body needs time to catch up with the weight loss so that you have less sagging. Drink lots of water and stay positive about your new life-style. I try to work on my inner feelings and mental outlook while I am losing weight so that I can help others and stay motivated and build my confidence.

You are doing great. Don't feel frustrated - keep doing the program and it will keep working for you!!!

weigh to go any loss is a good loss when you are a CC memeber.

So where you going now to extended induction or OWL chapter 12-14 can help you make that decision.

What you doing as that mandatory exercise part of your Atkins. if that is a new to you exercise plan then it too can slow your scale loss in the beginning as your body adjusts to the new to it work load but it will hewlp you lose more faster next week. Happy low carbing.

              Well,

If this is going to be your WOL, you have all the time in the world.

Slow paced weight loss is better for your system because:-
              • Your body needs time to deal with the toxins that are released from your fat.
              • Your skin needs time to heal and shrink
              • You need time to develop rock hard habits that will keep this weight off!
We all have to patient, like the dripping water that carves out a rock face.

If it is coming off, than you are in the right direction.

Congrats on the 7.5 pound loss!

                Re: 2 Weeks is Over

TirtleBaby- I've been on and off Induction over the past 4 weeks.. (Primarily because I didn't get the book until last week, so I was cheating and not knowing it!) On June 5th, I posted my Intro on this board and measurements.. On Sunday, June 18th, I had lost 2 inches off my bust and belly and 3 inches off my hips. The scale says I only lost 12 pounds. I'd rather see my inches diminish than my weight Now, after just fitting comfortably back into size 28 jeans, I'm anticipating a size 26 in a few weeks. Ignore the scale for now!
