  • Well that's just silly!

    Hi everyone!

When I first joined the board, I made it a point to remember to come in and say hello, join the century club, and start posting because I have about 130 pounds to lose. Then I started with my Journal Chats, and kinda sorta forgot to introduce myself

So, a watered down version; My name is Christine, I'm a 28 year old sahw in Arizona. I've been married for 9 years and have been packing on the pounds every year since! I've tried all sorts of diets, and eventually caved and cheated on all of them. Pretty cut and dry really. So now I'm on day 14 of induction, pretty sure I'm going to keep with it for awhile longer, and I've lost 11 pounds and 5 inches.

My biggest problems are: I'm shy. I don't get out much. I'm an emotional eater. I get discouraged easily. BUT, I'm trying to change all that. In my time on this board so far, I've gotten a lot of constructive criticism, a lot of support and I've opened up a bit. It's also very nice to see that there are people out there that need to lose as much as I do and those who have succeeded. It's reassuring!

That wasn't quite as short as I'd planned it to be (I'm a teensy bit long winded ) But that's the jist of it! Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

    Re: Well that's just silly!

hi and welcome to the CC!

Congrats on the weight and inches lost so far! That's great!

I'm rather shy myself, but something I've been discovering... my confidence keeps growing as my weight keeps going down. Finding a program like Atkins that not only works, but helps you feel better and eat better is a huge motivation!

I'm a slow loser, so it's been hard at times to not get discouraged, but then I remember ADBB and all the advice here and re-read the stickies and it helps me stay focused.

Feel free to ask questions, even if you think it's odd. Make sure to have your menu checked, as I often made little mistakes along the way that I've learned from personally and from the great advice of others here.

    See you around!

    Goal #1: 247 - 2nd 10% (59lbs, 247, also 100 lbs total loss) - Met 1/4/10!!!
    Goal #2: 241 - Halfway to goal! (106 lbs lost) - Met 2/21/10!!!

    Goal #3: 222 - 3rd 10% - Lowest Atkins weight
    Goal #4: 210 - Still on track!
    Goal #5: 200/199 - 4th 10% - One-derland! End year goal!

        Welcome 1poundatatime!

Congratulations on all your accomplishments so far! Simply fantastic!

I've always been extremely shy...as you start to lose it will be something you start to get over. As weight goes down, confidence increases exponentially. Lately I've found myself just chatting to people in the street or at my favorite coffee shop downtown. It's really awesome to just sit and talk normally with people who never knew you before you lost the weight. So hang in there and everything will change for the better!

If you need anything just give a shout!

          Welcome to the CC!

My motto is: The first 100 pounds is the easiest!

I like your login name! It's made me think I have to stop worring about the massive amount of weight I have to lose, and just focus on that one pound!

That's exactly what I'm trying to keep in mind! It's a bit hard to remember sometimes, isn't it?

Welcome Christine and congratulations on your success so far. I'm a shy person too so I know what that's like. Glad you're able to open up here at ADBB 'cause it's the greatest place on the net for support, encouragement and friendship. Hope you'll stick around and get to know everyone.

                hi christine

Yep, seen you around the other forums and so glad you decided to pop in and join us here in cc.
Our current and goal weights are very similar so i feel what you're feeling right now .
I know its a long journey to get to our destination(one i diverted from for nearly a yr ) but i learnt that to get there i must get back on that same track, follow my route,no more diversions,no turning back and eventually i will get to where i need to be.
I hope to see you chugging along beside me.

Hey, Christine! I'm shy in real life and in fact, right here is where I first admitted my weight to anyone. It seemed so much safer than telling people here at home. I finally just told my hubby a few months ago how big I really got. Lots of great people here make it so easy to get our concerns, worries & fears out there and answered. And it feels really great to see that we are not the only ones that have a lot to lose and sometimes have trouble doing it. I'm so glad you're here on the journey with us.

Hi Christine and welcome "officially" to the Century Club! Glad you finally popped in to wave and let us know how you're doing.

I think as a lot of us got bigger, we became more "shy" and introspective. It's fun coming out of that shell and getting folks to respond to us in ways we've never experienced.

The SAHM bit can get old I know, been one for nearly 11 years now and the lonely eating or finishing up your kids leftovers is dangerous.

Come in and post when you can.

Ok...first off WELCOME CHRISTINE!!! So glad you're here! Secondly...what is SAHM? At first I thought it was a typo, but now Kathy has me wondering. Especially with the kid's leftover thing. What does it mean? You're accomplishments so far are wonderful, and I hope you're stay here is long and successful!

Welcome aboard. I love your name, it keeps reminding me that's how it has to go.......I;m very much an introvert and at times too have had a hard time relating to people. I am very sure it was caused by my lack of self esteem/weight issues. Good luck to you.
