Hi everyone, I am back again, I was on the atkins plan from Jan to march of 2006 and lost 35 pounds, got lazy and started eating all wrong.. Dr told me in Oct I had the early symptoms of diabetes and to try to control it with diet and excercise, I guess I didnt take him seriously but for some reason I took my blood on saturday and to my shock it was 464 and omg it scared me to peices . I immediatly knew it was time to get serious so I started atkins again and today it was 237, still too high but I want to try to get it down by myself. if I cant then I will have to go to the dr and get medicine for it.. I am really going to try to be diligent and stick to the plan this time.. Just wanted to say, I am back

oh my goodness Del, what a scary thing. Glad to have you back again. Sounds like you caught things in time to get your numbers under control.

I'm glad you're here, again, too! The high sugar scares me though. How long has it been since you restarted? And when will you check again? Maybe the doctor could prescribe something like Metformin, which helps lower high sugar and control insulin when paired with lo carb eating. It beats having to take insulin. Just an idea, and CONGRATS on coming back!
