  • Heartburn?

Good Friday Morning everyone!!! Question for you all: Everytime in the past when I've done this diet, my heartburn has completely cleared up within the first week. It did this time, but in the last two days, it has kicked in BIG time, and I can't pinpoint it to anything. I'm eating the same foods, have added nothing differant, and quit drinking my one a day diet soda two days ago. Any ideas? Has anyone else had this happen?

    Thanks!

    Re: Heartburn?

My husband has the same problem and he discovered before starting low carb this time that anything that even has a hint of wheat, which is his problem food, causes him to have problems. I think what happens, based on his situation and some research I have done, that we can get away eating foods we are sensitive to for only so long and then our bodies call us on it. Even the tiniest little bit will bother us when it used to be a lot all the time. He was not on low carb but avoiding wheat and bought some chili flavored Fritos and they caused him to have some problems and when he looked, they had a bit of wheat flour in ithe ingreidants of the flavoring. So, you are going to have to be a detective and figure out if even miniscule amounts of the foods you are sensitive to are in your diet. Wheat is in everything, we have to look at everything we buy even low carb can have tiny bits of it. It is scary.
I hope you can figure it out quickly so you can get rid of the low carb, my husbands is gone and I know how relieved he is.
I hope you feel better soon,

      Re: Heartburn?

      Hey Mari!

My heartburn totally went away once I started on Induction. Yeah! Because it was really becoming a problem.

I hope you find out if you're sensitive to an ingredient. I know it must be a pain.

Marion this happened to me first time round .
My heartburn was brought on by eating more red meat than i would usually have done before this woe.
If i had something like steak for my evening meal, by the time i went to bed i was in agony like a lump of lead was stuck in my chest and the pain felt like it was radiating from the front of my chest right around to my back.
I dont eat much red meat at all now and when i do i make sure i have it early in the day and i hav'nt had a problem since
