  • Feed back Requested

Okay, so yesterday was day one on Induction. Prior to induction, I had been eating candy, pizza, you name it, I ate it and alot of it.

Anyway, yesterday, for breakfast, I had 2 Egg McMuffins, Sans the bun.

Never did eat lunch, I get a half hour lunch and I had to run my son somewhere during that 30 minutes and I am on the phone all day for a computer software company. Can't chew and talk

Okay, this is the part that concerned me. Because I did not eat lunch, and I am just now starting to rid myself of all the glucose that I had been consuming and becoming a fat burning machine, and due to not eating anything since 8:30 am which was teh two eggs with two slices of Canadian bacon along with the cheese, I was starving last night. Dinner was at 6:00pm

I sat down to eat dinner and inhaled the following:

3 cups of salad veggies with some feta sprinkled on top.

    Goddess Dressing 3-4 T

    2 Italian Sausage

    8 Chicken Wings

    4 ounce steak

That is a lot food. But truly, it is what I felt I need to feel satisfied. That scares me because it makes me feel like I am compulsively eating protein. But I was hungry. Any suggestions?? I do not want to trade one bad habit of bingeing on carbs to bingeing on meat. Will the ravenous hunger stop once ketosis kicks in?

Thank you for letting me share my concerns. Looking forward to hearing from you.
    Hugs,
    Linda

Over the course of a day your menu looks good. You already know that you shouldn't be eating all your food in one sitting, right? You shouldn't go more than 6 waking hours without eating something. Perhaps you can pack a cooler with some boiled eggs, cheese strings and raw veggies and munch on them while doing errands. Or even if you have to have a quick munch on your way to the ladies room (presumably they don't make you talk to clients while attending to life's necessities - lol). Planning ahead is the key to success.

Hunger does stop; I find breakfast and lunch hard to force down and I am a big guy who could eat 4 bigmacs when required

You really need to try and eat something for lunch, cheese sticks, deli meat rollup, anything... dont go more than 6hrs without eating!

learn Dr Atkins terminalogy and you will be way a head in your losing.
We feed our hunger and that is what you should be satisfying not the stretch receptors in your belly. right now your ketosis appetite suppression hasn't kicked in so feed your hunger no matter what it takes BUT learn your hunger signals and what it fells like when they are satisfied. a full tummy has nothing to do with hunger feelings. rememeber you can eat again any time you feel hungry too so you don't got to wait for meal time.

since you run your son around during lunch how about getting a cooler and packing a picnic for y'all to enjoy as you run errands. finger foods work really well for this.

          Linda,

two things you will learn as you go along:-

          1. The eggs and bacon you cook at home taste 10000 better than MacDonalds. Maccas use unhealthy vegetable oils too (Trans Fat). I cook mine in coconut oil!

          2. If you skip a meal, you are actually going to overeat at night/o this all the time. Even though I am technically not starving, it seems it's a lot harder to stop at night if I have skipped a meal.

Dr. Atkins rule - no more than 6 hours between meals. It's sensible too.

I found out the other day that a bigger meal will actually induce a small amount of insulin release & it doesn't matter what you eat. When the stomach is stimulated, like in the case of a large meal, some insulin is released. This is why portion control is better.

Excellent Advise. Thank you very much. I have never had coconut oil. Does it taste good? Yeah, I am going to try and get up earlier and cook myself some boiled eggs and fry some bacon. I get up at 4:30 am and need be to work by 6am. I am so not awake at that hour I need to plan my meals better. As they say, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. I don't want to fail. Thanks for all the shares everyone, I get a lot out of them.

              Re: Feed back Requested

I am def. not a morning person either! It's gotten a lot easier to do breakfast now, but before what I would do is scramble some eggs the night before and heat them up in the morning along with heat and serve sausage or bacon. Tastes ok to me! And saves me lots of time!

Yes, I should do that, prepare the night before. It would take me 5 minutes to scramble some eggs. Again it does all come down to planning.

                  Coconut oil is great!

It tastes a little coconutty, but it's very mild and doesn't spoil the food.

It's not like the chemical coconut flavourings.

I recommend it. It's the only cooking oil I use now. Get Virgin, Cold Pressed and organic!
