  • 25% of myself gone

Tonight I was working on scrapbooking with my Girl Scout troop. The girls argued with me about some pictures. They couldn't believe that the woman in the picture was me. I couldn't believe they didn't recognize me from 2 years ago. Then, it occured to me that 25% of that person is now gone. They knew I lost weight, but they never realized how much. They wanted to know how I lost weight and I explained basically that I eat nutritious foods now and that includes no sugars. They then decided that we should make a different nutritious snack for each meeting. These girls are so great! Maybe I can have an impact on their nutrition just by being an example. As hard as it was seeing that picture, I'm glad it made an impact on their view of sugar.

I have basically lost the equivalent of a 9 year old Girl Scout. LOL

woo hoo. I remember when one of my foster kids told me how much his arms had grown cause he could reach around me now back when I was losing. I think there is a badge they can earn on foods and nutriton too y'all could work on.

I love your post. Comparing before/after photos really tell the truth better than numbers. I'm so happy your scrapbooking friends are seeing the importance of eating better! You're a great example of what Atkins can do for us!!!

I love the "lost a 9 yr old girlscout" I used to be able to say I lost my eldest daughter, but I've not lost more and she's grown some, she's now 11 LOL!! Congrats to you!
