    So I was doing sooooo well today. At 10pm I had eaten all my food for th day, my carbs were at 20, my calories at 1200..

    Then I got the worst T.O.T.M cramps.. aaaagh..

    Back when I was a slave to my food (I lived to eat, didn't eat to live) when I got the dreaded cramps I would buy the biggest cheesecake, or donuts.. or tub of icecream or bag of sunflower seeds.. or ANYTHING and eat and eat and eat. I don't think I've ever NOT eaten through my cramps (out of some bizarre feeling that the cramps were telling me to eat!!)

    So here I was with a perfect (for me) score for the day with no cheats in awhile and ontrack.. and I decided to go to Tim Hortons (a Canadian Donut shop) to get something.

    Luckily I was able to control myself to just a coffee with 2 cream and 2 sweetener...NO DONUTS THANK GOSH. But.. That put me over for the day

    I need someone to shackle me to my desk and far away form a fridge or store.

    I hope that was real cream and artificial sweetener?

    You did fine. You were in a difficult situation and instead of accepting defeat you made a very, very small compromise.

    Just make that the exception instead of the rule and you'll be fine.

    The biggest thing, though ... CONGRATULATIONS on going to a donut shop and NOT eating any donuts. That is a HUGE victory, coffee and cream be damned!

      Yes that was 2 cream and 2 artificial sweetener.

      If your from Canada as well, if you go to Tim Hortons be careful!!! Watch the person put your stuff in your coffee because they don't care if they forget which one you wanted and will give you just sugar. I've stopped using the drive through because of this. Even before I was on Atkins I tried to control my sugar somewhat.. and too many times drove away and took one sip and discovered they put real sugar in it.

      The same is true for pop. (Soda to you Americans lol)

      I've ordered diet pop and recieved regular and when I ask for them to fix it, they can't figure out the problem, like I am being far too unreasonable.

        I'm from Colorado ... but we call it "pop" here as well. I'm not sure how it divides out, but I think it's "pop" in the midwest/west and "soda" in the East.

        In Colorado we have "Krispy Kreme's." Thankfully, the one nearest my house just closed. Unfortunately it is becoming a drive through starbucks, which will cost me a fortune because of my wife's latte addiction.

          Not to get off topic, but I always thought this was interesting, it's a distribution map of where in the US people say "soda" vs. "pop" or "coke" for everything... I grew up saying pop or coke, but moved to california, and now call it soda..
          A page that maps the geographic distribution of the terms "pop" and "soda" when used to describe carbonated beverages



          ANNNNNNNNNyywayy... Kudos to you for making a smart decision! Remember this is a way of life/way of eating, not just a crash "diet", so it's all about making good decisions that you can live with while being healthier. sounds like you made a great compromise, do'nt beat yourself up for it!

          We also have tim horton's here, hard to resist!

            Okay, so I'm with Steve...going to a donut shop and ordering coffee...GIRL, you deserve a medal!!! That was a great choice and I'm wondering in your 20 carb count for the day...did that include your fiber carbs from your veggies??
