      Re: Wednesday Water

I'm finding the water really hard. If I am alone all day, sitting at the PC and working, it's fairly easy. I have several bottles (one point five litres) under my desk and a pint glass being refilled constantly.

But if I have company, or if I go out, I just forget all about the water. I seem to get so engrossed in what I am talking or listening about or just doing that I simply forget, then, lying in bed I tot it up and find I've only had one 1.5l bottle over the whole day.

Also, there are days when I know I am not going to be able to get to a toilet for a long time, so I deliberately don't drink in preparation for this. I don't have that strong a bladder to hold on for hours.

I'm simply not thirsty for the amount of water I am recommended to drink, so even when I get my 100 ounces in, I am forcing it into me.

My appetite is kept pretty low. Is it really necessary to get so much water into me? Won't just a 1.5 litre bottle do?

        Re: Wednesday Water

        Helena,

It sounds like you're really working hard to get your needed water intake for the day! That's great. Water is really so key to this way of life. It has such an important function of flushing your body of all the waste and toxins you need removed while eating higher amounts of protein. Did you know that just a 2% drop in body water can cause short term memory trouble with basic math problems and difficulty focusing! Water also regulates the temp. of the body, carries nutrients and oxygen to the cells, cushions joints, and protects organ tissues. Not drinking enough water can also cause daytime fatigue and false feelings of hunger, which for this WOL, can be costly. People walk around everything day dehydrated and don't even know it. 37% of people mistake thirst for hunger. So, if you can, try to get those 100 oz. of water in. You'll feel so much better and know that you are helping your body perform all it's necessary hard work! Hope this helps!

          Helena,

I completely forgot to mention that dehydration slows the body's metabolism! That alone is reason to keep on chuggin' girl!!

          Hang in there!
