  • Night out plan

Ok, my husband and I've been invited to join a small group of couples to go to a mystery dinner show in a week. I'm very excited as I really like the people who we are going with.

However, I decided to do some detective work. I called and found that except for the dinner salad...I can't have the foods that will be served. I called ahead and talked to them. They didn't have any problem with eliminating the gravies, breads or desserts to accomodate me. I've already put in my order and when I arrive, I simply give them my name and they will see that I receive the meal I ordered. They thanked me for letting them know ahead of time so they won't be stressed when I get there about substitutions and changes.

Now I'm really excited and can't wait to go. One thing I've learned is that we have to look out for ourselves when it comes to our WOE. Now I can relax and the waitress, chef and party I'm with won't be upset or frustrated over my way of life.

Smart move! What you did is awesome. A lot of people would have made excuses, oh I can't change the menu, I don't want to make a fuss, but you realized that your body is the most important thing, not the fact that everyone should eat the same crappy food!

I am inspired to call my local restaurants!

That's wonderful! I would have never thought to do that. I'd just have eaten first and not eaten the food they served. *impressed*
