I been getting discouraged because i haven't lost even one pound in like 12 days. Is it normal to go through plateaus like this? I didn't even cheat on thanksgiving! I havn't cheated at all! I have been drinking at least 64 oz of water everyday!

Re: Sad
Plateaus like this are very common Tracie, there is no real need to be panicking. Have you lost weight up to now?
Quite often its because your body is catching up on the weight you have already lost. Also, you may not actually be in a plateau, do you know if you have lost any inches in the last 12 days? As that often happens, no weigh loss but inches lost.
Dont feel too discouraged.
Good luck

Re: Sad
Please measure and see if you are losing inches. Are your clothes getting loose? How do you feel, more energetic and good about the weight you've already lost? What I did when I first started was write out my schedule with meals, exercise and how I felt each day. Plan your success with variety of foods, alter your exercise and record your measuements as well as weight. One thing I found was that many times I'd not lose weight for several days, then I'd get a whoosh of 2-3 pounds lost at one time. Keep doing it and it will happen!!!Starting Date 3/12/04 285/165/145 - F

Re: Sad
Tracie you can still be loosing inches and the scale will stay the same. Something to do with the fat cells filling with water to maintain and when your body realizes that its ok to release it, the water will go and you'll get a WOOSH (aka visit from WOOSHIE) and you could amazingly drop 2-3 pounds in what will seem like a day.
Good luck!

Re: Sad
Yea tracie! That's good things are changing again. You know I also read that an increase in exercise can also stall you a bit too. Did you change up your exercise routine any?

Re: Sad
Tracie,
That's awesome DH got you a treadmill! Be sure you don't get frustrated if you notice a slight gain on the scale when you first begin exercising...it's your muscles hydrating (I believe that is the correct term...2Big is the resident expert on all that!) Keep up the exercise and that gain will quickly go by the way side along with all that fat you're burning!Stats F/34/5'2/SW248/CW?
