  • Is this possible?!

I woke up this morning and decided that I couldn't wait until my induction ends on Monday to step on the scale so I snuck on. I had to step on 15 times because I couldn't believe my eyes. I checked the battery and it seems to be fine. Right now, I'm waiting for my hubby to wake up so that he can step on it so I know for sure if it's right or not. Anyway, is it possible to have your scale read 18 pounds less than it did a few days ago?

When I weigh, it's always first thing in the morning right after using the bathroom before gravity takes ahold.

I'm hoping that my reading the other day was way wrong!

    Re: Is this possible?!

If your diet was very carb-heavy and you have made a very drastic change it might well be possible to have lost that much. More likely your body is fluctuating and so you must not be surprised or upset if you find nine or ten of them come back on in the next few days. Don't panic if that happens, and don't panic either if you find that you lose nothing for a week.

From reading these boards I have learned that weight loss isn't regular or even, it seems to take place in whooshes and stalls for some people.

Anyway, keep on doing Atkins and it WILL come off, whether regularly or erratically. I simply has to!

I lost 19 pounds during induction...Then I pretty much fluctuated 5 pounds for the better part of three or four weeks, but then I have had a steady weight loss for the last 5 weeks, so that since 6/5/07 I have lost 30 pounds...So go ahead and rejoice over that loss, but know that a lot of it is water weight and you might have a couple of weeks where it appears that you aren't losing...Just remember your body is adjusting to the new WOL and don't get discouraged.

lol, your not seeing things. Its possible!

I started at 299 and by the end of week one, I was at 276.5, then for the next week or so, i went up one and back down a million times, then i started losing again.
