I'm just wondering what the favorite exercise of other people who have a lot to lose is. I like Pilates and walking, but walking is hard on my arthritis and it's made me slow down a lot these past months. So what do you do for exercise that is fun or just makes you feels good in general?

Re: Post your favorite exercise!
I love my stability ball!!! It's much easier than it looks (well at least some of it
) and the best part is my back feels great after doing streches on it! I also love weight lifting - I see results fast with that.

Re: Post your favorite exercise!
When I started... the elliptical and weight training. *now* I do everything: pilates, yoga, dance, kayaking, running (treadmill and outside), spinning, boxing, kickboxing... basically anything I can fit into my schedule.
I know that's a lot of favorites but I love them all in different ways.

I always vary my exercise as I find its the only way to not get bored. Personally I prefer running, but I will also use the eliptical, rower and bike. Also weights.sigpic260/215/180 Male - 36 y/o

Thanks for responding. I find that I need to change it up as well sometimes. I'm so mad at the arthritis because walking really is my most favorite. Grrr!

Re: Post your favorite exercise!
My routine is treadmill, crunches, leg lifts, arm machine (so they don't get uber flabby at the bottom when I lose weight), the love handle machine. I love my routine. I never get bored. I'm a creature of habit.
But something I really really really enjoy is swimming or running in the pool. And if you have arthritis this is very helpful. However, the pool has so much chlorine it dries out my skin, so I stick to my routine.
And then there's also my dance workout dvd. Omg! I love it. It's a bunch of latin dance moves put into a workout. I've only gotten through 30 minutes of it, my goal is to be able to get through the whoooole thing. But it wears me out because I'm so out of shape!
I'm going to have to try pilates. Everyone loves it. What does it consist of?

I like so many but if I have to pick one I would say spinning, then bodypump in secone place. But since I can't go the gym for now, I gotta use my eliptical machine and my jump rope religiously. I have learned to love that as well.36/F, 5'8 "FOOD IS MY DRUG OF CHOICE.

Re: Post your favorite exercise!
I have had arthritis issues too, so found that my best workout is doing WATER walking - in the lap pool at my health club. I just stick to the shallowest lane which is about chest deep on me and really power walk in the water for about 30 min., then I do other exercises in the water for another half hour. It feels good, you don't have to get your hair wet if that is a problem, and it has worked wonders for me. (HW 323.5; CW 228; GW 17
And people are constantly asking me how much I have lost because the sculpting is showing up in the body parts that show!
Now I have as my newest goal to work on those still flabby upper thighs and that belly fat "apron" that WILL come off in another 50ish pounds!
So try water walking if you have access to a pool - it's great!!!sigpicIt's never too late to be what you might have been!

Re: Post your favorite exercise!
This was such a great bulletin!!! I love all the ideas!
As for my I love doing Tae Bo and crunches. With the tae bo I turn it on mute and put on some LOUD adreniline pumping music and have at it, same with my crunches. I feel so amazing afterwards. I absolutely adore the pool too. I do a few laps and wen I feel tired I stop and tred water for a few minutes and continue, so I never stop moving. The only thing I don't like is how dry my hair is afterward.
