    Re: Post your favorite exercise!

I love taking my dog for long, brisk walks. She loves it too. It's good for both of us I've been adding a little running in at certain intervals, but not much. I'm trying to ease into it.

Right now the thing I"m enjoying most is bicycling. I used to walk a lot more, and I still enjoy that, but with a bike you can go so much further that it gives you a type of freedom you just can't get from walking. I've started looking up trail maps and going all sorts of places I could never reach before. It's been great and I highly recommend it!

I love going to the group classes at my gym... Group Groove (a dance class) and Group Kick are my favorites. Water aerobics is great too... I was a little nervous about getting in the pool in front of everyone at first but everyone there has been great. Water aerobics would probably be great for you considering your arthritis.

Simple walking. I also use cleaning my house as exercise. Scrubbing floors on hands and knees is actually a great work out. I feel so good about the clean house and my workout when I'm done.

Mine has always been walking too, but after reading Grant's post I may get me a bike and start doing some riding.

                Re: Post your favorite exercise!

My favorite continues to be working out with weights and walking in the pool, but due to some orthopedic limitations, access has been difficult, lately. So, during this time, I did something I hadn't done since I was 14 as a chubby ballerina, I am doing ballet. Oh yes, I have the bar and play music and do stretches with the bar as support. The stretching is great and it is not only healthful but therapeutic for my mobility. I also do bike pedals from a sitting position. The machine slides under my desk and the movement is good for me. If lower extremity mobility is a problem for you, don't use it as an excuse ... sit in a chair and use your upper body to Tae Bo or dance in place or wave and flail. It may not be classic cute, but it gets the job done.
