I found out this morning that a family member died. I am a wreck and having a hard time. I really want to go eat taco bell and candy bars tonight... Help!

I am so so sorry to hear that . Now is the most important time to stay strong. I don't really know what advice to offer, but you came here and that is great. I think we will all be here if you want to vent, ramble, cry.

Please do that instead of what you are thinking of. My thoughts and prayers are with you! Hang in there hon. You are worth it.

    Sending hugs and strength

      Angela,

Times like this you need to go easy of yourself.

      How about an alternative?

Get a fast food cheeseburger and eat it bunless.

Candy bars? Have an atkins/lowcarb bar and some fruit.

These things are better than Taco Bell and candy bars!

      Look after yourself,

      Cheers

So sorry to hear about your loss Angela.
Do the best you can and trust yourself to be strong enough to get thru this. You can do it and it will only make you that much stronger. hang in there girl, it's not worth it to cave in to the carb monster.
You will be in my nightly prayers.

Sorry for you loss. We all have reasons why we say we eat ... illness, deaths of friends and family, vacations, weddings, birthdays ... the truth is, there will always be an excuse that we use to eat. While no one is perfect, perhaps this is a good time for you to stop and listen to your body and think back to times in the past when you have handled stress with food. While the carb laden foods taste good for a few minutes while you are eating them, the guilt and bad feelings are certain to creep in.

I have found that having a "go to plan" in my head is best. The time to make the commitment to stay true to Atkins isn't in the midst of grief and trials and tribulations. Make the commitment now and there won't even be a question when you encounter difficulty again in the future.

When you are alone in your head, you are in a bad neighborhood.
