  • Century Club Roll Call-Thanksgiving

    Hope everyone is doing great. Remember it's one day at time, stick to want you want to do, not what other people want you to do.

    Take care all and hope of those who celebrate it, have a Happy Thanksgiving.

    1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
    2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
    3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.
    4-Self-deprecation only feeds our inner ego and not in a good way.

    Amen Bluebelt!!! Don't let people pressure you into eating anything you don't want to! Our families/friends need to respect our needs!

          Good afternoon everyone. Great message Bluebelt! The temptaion is difficult enough at times, it doesn't help having someone help the temptation. Just say NO! You are in control of what goes in your mouth, not them. I'm preparing the Thanksgiving meal today. Everything is Atkins friendy but the stuffing, mashed potatoes, and hot rolls. I have no interest of these foods. Everything else on the table is open game! Happy Thanksgiving to those who are celebrating! Wishing everyone a safe and legal day!

            Have to share a funny story with everyone. My extended family has just left the house after celebrating Thanksgiving with my wife two boys and me. Today, I stuck to guns and ate what I wanted to ALL ATKINS Friendly things that were yummy. Since I like to cook, I still made all the food today (Turkey, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, dinner rolls, cherry pie, pecan pie, chocolate not to mention appetizers and beer/wine). Everyone who came said the food was great, and felt bad that I really couldn't enjoy myself, even though I had a great time. The funny part is they have all gone home to sleep/nap whatever, generally to do nothing b/c they don't feel good b/c they way over ate.

            I on the other hand will spend the rest of the evening watching football and playing with my two sons.

            Hope everyone had a nice day, and hey if you fell off today or had a bump in the road don't beat yourself up, BUT MAKE SURE YOU PICK YOURSELF UP AND GET BACK ON TRACK NOW!!

              Oh, yes! The nap and then "where's the pie" days, I remember them well! Great story Bluebelt! I myself am finished eating for the day except for my Atkins friendy pumpkin bar w/ cream cheese frosting and a cup of decaf. I really enjoyed our dinner today. My meal consist of Turkey, fresh gr beans w bacon, onion and garlic; gravy (atkins friendly), deviled egg, cream cheese stuffed celery, black olives, atkins friendly cranberries and raspberry jello mold. Small portions of each. The food is put up and the dishes are done. It's all about kicking back with my family, going for a walk before dessert and then playing board games till someone gets p.o. LOL, sore losers!

                  Checking in late but stayed legal today. I'm so proud of myself because I'd be lying if I said I didn't want the stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, and rolls.
