  • Chicklady Twisted my Arm

Ok not really but she did invite me to come and join the Century Club.

You can read my full introduction in The Spotlight Forum but briefly I was at my highest weight of 314 pounds and decided to do something about it, today is my third day of induction and Im 4 pounds lighter. I know people say dont weigh yourself but once a week but seeing the weight loss really motivates me.

I'm glad that Chicklady twisted your arm. Welcome to the CC'ers I think you will find it a good caring and supportive group. I am off to read your Spotlight.

Yeah the induction is going pretty good.......this evening I found a site with "induction friendly" recipes and came across a delicious recipe for a BBQ sauce that was wonderful on a grilled hamburger patty. I was so happy to have found anything I could put on my meat, I was getting a little bored with plain pork ribs or chops or chicken. Betty Crocker I am NOT so it is quite challenging for me to find ways to keep the limited food we are allowed interesting.

Well, it is a bit of a challenge, but since I've always enjoyed cooking, I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I think spices are a great way to change the flavor of the same-old same-old meat. They also tend to be a good source of fiber, and some of them are rather nutrient dense.....paprika and cayenne for vitamin A, poppy seeds for calcium, etc.
What i like best about heavy usage of herbs and spices is that you can "change countries" just by using different ones. Chinese one night, mideast the next, greek another, hungarian, german, french, spanish.....The meat and vegetable may stay the same, but the flavor changes dramatically.

Welcome to the Century Club Suga. We're glad you're here. Linda's site has some GREAT induction friendly recipes (http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/index.html). I especially like the "Just like stuffed baked potatoes" YUM!

Yes, Linda's site is a godsend for most of us!!

BTW she is a member here (LindaSue) !
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Will there be any arse kickin if I happen to miss a day?
I mean I take my obligations seriously but even with the best of intentions things happen and I dont want to let anyone down, especially myself. But I would love to join and make an honest attempt.
