  • What Would You Do?

    Hi CC'ers!

    I was just curious if any of you have a special reward in mind for when you reach your goal weight.

    There are several things I want to do as I lose weight... go to an amusement park and ride every ride there, lay out on the beach, and run in a 5K...

    but my ULTIMATE reward to myself when I reach my GOAL will be to go SKY DIVING! I have always wanted to do this and it will be the perfect reward. My exercise buddy Connie has already agreed to go with me when I reach my goal. I CAN'T WAIT!!

    What do you guys plan on doing when you reach your goal weight?

    That's a good question. I was planning on a big shopping trip... but that seems a little shallow now and not quite as fulfilling as I had first thought.

    I'd like to hike down and then up the Grand Canyon for one thing. But you have to plan that months in advance... major ordeal. Plus, convice the family that they want to do that too... hmmm.

    I'd also like to run a 10 k... and a half marathon... and then someday maybe a marathon... ???? scary.

    I'd also like to take a belly dancing class, but I think I'll do that sooner than later... just to add a little fun to my life. There's a class starting next month, and I think I could actually do it now without being mortally embarrassed.

      Well when I first started Atkins I weighed 183 and I told my kids that if I lost 70 lbs. I would go get my belly button pierced. Its been a slow and hard job here, dont think I will ever hit that 70 so I guess I don't have to worry about it!

          Oh no, you're fine hopejoy, the more the merrier. Wow, hiking the Grand Canyon would be an awesome achievement. I think you should go for it. If your family isn't up for it tag along a friend.

              What a great question Liz. I haven't really even thought about it until just now. I think I want to get a motorcycle!!!! I grew up riding them & still ride when I go visit my dad.

                I am going to be so estatic with those little things that "normal" people take for granted, that I haven't given it much thought, Liz! I can't wait to fit in the bathtub, not put my car in Neutral with my belly when I reach over to roll down the passengers side window, go clothes shopping in a store, in the regular section, walk up stairs without turning beet red and looking like I need paramedics....you know......regular stuff! I'm gonna have to give your question some thought!





                290 lbs. on 11/02/07 Goal: 145 lbs. or size 14 whichever comes first!

                  Hi, sorry to but in, but why wait until you have lost the weight to run a 5k? Doing it before hand would be great exercise and something else to help you shed the weight

                    gee....all the things i would really like to do would require me to take time off from work?! grr......

                    like i would love to walk from the northern-most point of new jersey to its southern tip down in cape may ( i think ).......i think nj is about 180 miles long....but i will have to double check that. even if i were to cover 12 miles a day it would take me over two weeks!! i'd love to walk across the united states......many have tried and few have succeeded. of course i would do this to raise money for some kind of charity....but i am no celebrity so LOL.

                    i would also love to take the summer off and see a baseball game in every major league ballpark. that has always been a dream of mine!!

                    if i could somehow get back down to 190lbs......i would probably want to do personal training again. that would make me happy.

                    as far as something for myself....hmmm, i wouldnt wanna do anything special or treat myself in anyway. i would like to see the great wall of china. so if i could get a few weeks.....maybe that would be something special!!!

                      I have lost 125 pounds, and went snorkeling in Hawaii this summer. I need to lose another 70 pounds, I will go skydiving this summer, and horseback riding lessons.

                          My first mini goal reward...when I get to Onederland (195) I'm going to go get a pedicure and manicure (never had one). That will be a true treat for myself. I know that my overall goal may sound silly but when I reach my goal of 140 I plan to take my daughter to Kidz Place and get on the trampoline with her (as she has wanted me to do so many times but I was/am too overweight to do it now).

                            This conservative, mini-van driving mom plans to get a tatoo! Somewhere just for me... maybe my hip. I'm not positive what I want yet, but I'm leaning toward a cute turtle with a colorful shell. A turtle describes both my running and my weight loss efforts... slow and steady.

                            Catrenia -- those sound like great goals. And jumping with your daughter is not silly at all -- it's perfect!

                              Haha Glenda... yes from a cannonball to a skydive! I can't wait!!

                              Chicklady, I'm looking forward to all of those things too...going to a theatre without worrying about the seats, eating dinner on the patio at restraunts (those seats never work for me! or at least I'm scared to try!), riding a bike, crossing my legs, the list goes on and on...!

                              Christopher...I think you should take some time off work when you reach your goal and fulfill some of those dreams. You deserve it!! Start saving up your vacation time now cause you'll be there before you know it!

                              Momof3... that's awesome! I'm so jealous you'll be skydiving this summer and horseback riding sounds fun too!

                              Cat, that's a great reward. You're daughter will be so pleased and you'll feel great. I can just imagine your face beaming up on that trampoline. FUN!
