    Good Job Tim, I used to be a diet coke addict myself about 3-10 cans a day, the first three days was hard, but then it was easy. I actually feel so much better with out the diet coke.

    What I know:
    1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
    2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
    3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.
    4-Self-deprecation only feeds our inner ego and not in a good way.

      Three days? I can make it three days. I'm at work and I seriously want to just remove my head. It's amazing how dependent we can be on things like caffiene. Only my second day andthe lack of diet coke is making me feel sick. This drives the point home more than ever that it can't be good for me and that this is a good change. In the meantime it's advil and an early bedtime tonight. Oh, and lots more water.

        Hey there UrbanShaman ... WoW ? I see shaman .. and a wolf .. and had to ask ... if not then disregard

        I had HUGE headaches for about 5-6 days I cut down to 1 cup of coffee per day from 4 x Quad Venti Lattes (yeah expensive too)

        I am almost at the point that I'm going to give up the 1 cup as well but getting from 4 x Quad Venti Lattes to 1 normal cup was **** !!!

        Keep it up, plan your meals, if you do play WoW make sure you feed yourself properly for me it was hard to eat properly when I was gaming

        In addition to going on Atkins I quit PC Video Games and all Gaming .. double whammy .. LOL

            Guilty as charged. Imagine how surprised I was that a belief system so important to my ancestors makes a hit and miss appearance on WoW. I couldn't resist and now I adore the game.

            I will however, be cutting my playtime considerably to make room for exercise and meal planning. Responsible playing of WoW will be my reward for a job well done.

            Thanks for the info on the caffiene withdrawal. The headache is slightly better since I drank more water. I just can't wait to feel better.

                I was a Pre-Atkins Diet Coke Queen! Now I don't drink anything but water and a cup of decaf a.m.. Once you get through the withdrawl, you'll be feeling much better. You'll find once you've eaten on this lifestyle that the high carb, processed food will become so forein to you. Food tastes so much better when it's cooked and prepared fresh.                   Thank you very much, Sherri. It's heartening to know that their are many ex-Diet Coke drinkers out there who know don't miss it. Right now it's such a habit to order a big diet coke with my meal or grab the two liter. It's kind of odd not to have that taste with my food. Now it's just the food and you're right. You can actually taste it without having the soda get in the way.

                    I FEEL LIKE #$%^ TODAY!

                    Atkins flu, real flu, something, good lord.

                    I'm having the sneaking suspicion that the caesar dressing I had yesterday at lunch with coworkers was sweetened with sugar, or there was a sugar glaze on the beef in my salad. My bad for not checking better. I learned!

                        I was a little of a wimp. I did 3 cans the 1st day, 2 the second and then 1 on day three, day four I had the headache, but then it was all good.

                          Can I just say that I love this bunch!! I can't wait till we're all at goal, sharing our after pictures, struttin' our stuff.

                          Digital...hang in there...what day of induction are you on again? The 'flu' should pass soon, just stick with the plan. Within a few days you will be feeling so in control over your body and what you put in it.

                            You said it right there in a nutshell Tim. " it's such a HABIT to order a big diet coke with my meal", you're changing old habits into healthier ones. That's part of the process of learning a healthier lifestyle. That's what so cool about the Atkins Journey. You'll learn so much about YOU along the way.
