Re: Century Club Roll Call - Tuesday 2-5-08

Good morning CC'ers! I weighed in this morning and I'm still at ten pounds for the end of my induction. I'm kind of sad I didn't lose anymore this week but I'm going to keep trucking. At least I didn't gain so maybe the water loss was replaced with fat loss. Have a good day everyone!

Ten pounds gone for ever. Have you considered posting your daily intake in a Journal Stat forum, I find it extremely helpful.

      Great job, keep it up.

        morning everyone!

I like asparagus, pan grilled with olive oil.
I like red bell peppers the same way,
recently I like broccoli (?)just plain with a little butter and salt...string beans the same way...
        CAULIFLOWER!! almost ANY way....
radishes...I make them like homefries with onions and garlic and oregano...
LOOOOVE zucchini...any ol way, but lately I have used it for "fettucine"
bok choy stirfried, roasted...it's all good...
spinach...I like it in things, like soups and also just steamed with some butter and salt...
I love salads.....bibb lettuce cucumber and tomato...with vinaigrette....I like some field greens thrown in too...
almost ALL root veggies...but most are not on my list for induction....

I think I just really like veggies.....

well...you have to cook them for a while to get rid of the radishy flavor...you can just cook them in the pan over low heat or you can cut and boil them before panfrying....

after I add the spices and salt and pepper, and top with some legal catsup, it's hard to tell the difference....the texture is different...not starchy, of course, but I have to say, I like them just as much.

They totally taste like the real thing. Also, I like to put them in roast in place of potatoes,YUMMY! They're awesome in soups as well.

Re: Century Club Roll Call - Tuesday 2-5-08

I'm a big fan of broccoli, green beans, cauliflower. I've desided to add more summer squash since trying the grilled squash with the steak and rosemary butter at Olive Garden recently. I use the green beans to replace noodles. My fav is full size green beans uncut, lightly sauteed in sesame oil with garlic mixed with a few sesame seeds. When spring hits I crave salads. I'm hoping to be able to tollerate more carbs by then and enjoy the walnut, blue cheese, pear salad on a bed of romaine, with balsamic vinegar dressing.

I'm going to have to experiment with radishes!! Thank you ladies

I heard turnips can also be a substitute for french fries. Anyone try that?

                      Ya'll have a great evening!

I've tried turnips that way, once. Not impressed. Too "turnipy". Now, if I wasn't thinking "french fry substitute" and just considered them deep fried turnips, they were fine

I know, that's why I need you! I have no clue how to prepare vegetables and I don't like raw veggies like brocolli, celery, and stuff like that.
