  • New to the Forums, not to Atkins

I'm a newbie to this forum, but not to Atkins.

I'm not sure of my current weight. I haven't been able to make it over to the gym on campus to weight myself. I'm currently on my 4th day and am still fighting my cravings a bit. I've stopped dreaming about eating stuff, but still have cravings.

Today, at lunch at school, I wasn't sure what to expect. They have a pasta station, pizza station, salad station, then a sandwich station, and two hot stations that serve other things, plus two dessert stations, cereal, etc. Anyhow, they were serving chicken quaters BBQ'ed and seasoned. i got the seasoned and pulled the skin off b/c I didn't know what was in the seasoning they put on there, fixed a small cup of salad and some cucumbers, then got a bacon egg and cheese bagel. I pulled the bacon and egg off (cheese was stuck to bagel) and tossed the bagel. I was proud of that. I sat there looking at the bagel while I ate the chicken and decided that I didn't really even want it that bad.

For dessert, I grabbed a package of the cream cheese (after reading the ingredients) and ate that little yummy.

I have 200 lbs to lose. Last time I weighed, I weighed 379lbs. I'm 5'8", male. I'd like to weigh in the 170 range when I'm finished.

I've started Atkins in the past, but always found a way to justify eating this or that, and then it snowballed, and then here I am again. *sigh*

As I said in my introduction, I hope this is it. I hope this is the last time I start something... I hope I finally finish what I started.

Can't wait to join in the new challenge after March 21st. I'm looking foward to it. I'm not going to wait till then to workout, but I'm looking foward to the challenge all the same.

Wow, I just want to say how much I admire your ability to both not eat the chicken skin and seasonings, and to toss the bagel. I am new again to this forum, so it isn't really my place, but I wanted to say welcome! I would encourage you to try to get to the gym... for me at least, the more I can workout, the more committed I am to the eating right - one seems to lead to the other.

Welcome, welcome, welcome, and kudos (the verbal kind, not the chocolate granola-y kind) to you!

Hey, welcome to the ADBB and to the Century Club. The support you will find on this board is amazing. There are so many wonderful people here who will encourage you along the way to your goal. Congrats on 4 days of induction so far and staying true to this WOE at lunch today. Each little victory over food only makes us stronger for the next tempting situation. Keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing you around the board.
