  • No longer working...

So, I'm kinda upset a little. Been following the diet as best as possible. Not breaking 20 carbs a day, getting my exercise, eating the right foods, etc.

But for the last 4 days, I was stalled at the same weight. This morning I woke up to weigh, and found that I had gained almost 2 pounds.

It's really annoying to work as hard as I am, only to see the opposite reaction that I'm working for. I'm going to try to cut back even furthter than 20 carbs a day and see what happens.

    Hello!

I wouldn't worry about 4 days and not losing! That's totally normal!!! Your body just has to catch up to the changes you're doing! A two pounds gain could be anything like water retention etc. So keep your expectations realistic if you're able. I know it's an exciting process! Keep doing what you're doing and your body will catch up. I had a mini stall for 7 days and then a huge whooshie.

You really can't trust your scale to be an accurate measure of fat loss on a day-to-day basis. TOo many variables. Please read the below thread, it contains an excellent post on this subject.

bigbill, dont worry, have you measure yourself? I have almost two weeks with no weight loss, but I have lost 2 inches from everywhere! and Im almost sure my scale is crazy, I woke up today and I had 8 pounds less than a day before, and went to the bathroom and then weighted again and I then got another reading like 4 pounds up! hehehe I read that once, scales are evil!

Im going to do what lynn says, Im going to weight myself once a week, bluebelt also told me this and didnt listen, now I understand why!

            1) Don't weigh yourself daily. Once a week at most.
            2) Take measurements on your weigh in day.
            3) Take pictures (preferrably in the same clothes and same stance) on weigh in day.
            4) It took you years, even DECADES to get where you are today, what difference does 4 days make?

STEP AWAY FROM THE SCALE!!! It is just a box of bolts and screws and shouldn't dictate how we feel. Having said that, use something else to measure ... a tape measure or a goal shirt or pants. Weigh yourself less frequently.

If you are following the plan, eating only from the approved food list, you are drinking water, exercising, the plan won't fail you.

The weight didn't come on overnight and it isn't going to go overnight, so remember this is a way of life and just live life the way it was meant to!!

              Best wishes.

                  Re: No longer working...

BigBill Iweigh myself everyday and I'm trying to stop. The scale changes daily and a lot of the time it's not in my favor. I've never cheated once and it still goes up and like you it may go up several lbs. Don't get discouraged! I really watched what I was eating because after induction my loss slowed to a crawl. What I found was when I moved to the OWL rung 1 which is more veg's and I made sure I was getting my carbs in ,the scale started moving down again. I don't think I was getting enough carbs. Also certain foods slow me down like mayo. I have no idea why but now I know to not eat it all the time. Also if I eat a lot of sodium, like soy sauce I gain in the morning but I know it's only water because I feel swollen. I drink a lot of water and it goes away. If I drink to much water late at night, or if I eat late the scale goes up in the AM. There is so much that can change the metal monster. That's why I'm working on not weighing in every day. Good Luck! Kathie
