            1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.
4-Self-deprecation only feeds our inner ego and not in a good way.

Re: Missy..... joining the Century club

It won't take forever Missy, it really won't. It probably took you years and years and years to put that weight on, so it's gotta take at least a little time to get back off

We're here for you, there's challenges, buddy lists, checkins and just a whole lot of support and knowledge here.

I wanted to share one more thing that's been really powerful for me, but everyone is different, so YMMV:

Setting real goals, I know we've all read this before, about how important goal setting is, but it still seems glossed over a lot of the time. "I want to lose weight" is a direction, not a goal. If you were to ask the captain of a ship what his goal was, he'd tell you he wants to hit a certain port at a certain time and date, not "Go west".

I'm finding for myself that setting real goals, with honest, attainable dates attached to them has been VERY powerful for me. I'm reading "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" (www.fitren.com) and while I don't agree with a lot of his dietary recommendations in the books(low fat, low calorie), the way the author talks honestly and directly about goals and how powerful the subconcious mind is in our success has really been eye opening for me.

The author offers a 6 step goal process:
                1. Your ultimate long-term goal
                2. 12 month goal
                3. Three month goals
                4. Weekly goals (Weigh ins and weekly pictures?)
                5. Daily goals (habits to develop, things to do every day repeatedly)
                6. The goal of beating your personal best.

One of the things he talks about in length is writing these goals out and really owning them. I've adjusted the mini-goals not just to be 10lb increments, but real, honest milestones I want to reach while I'm on this journey.

I hope you find this helpful, I know it's been really powerful for me, and I'm a lifelong cynic. I honestly thought to myself "this is kind of dumb, I *KNOW* what I want to do with changing my eating" but when I sat down and really wrote out what I wanted, I could suddenly see myself at these goals, and it's a great feeling!

                      Welcome Missy,

Your not too far from me...I live in orlando~! (just thought that was cool) Tampa is a fun city, we go there sometimes for concerts or just little mini vacas. anyway, welcome to the club...I know how your felling (like its going to take forever) I thought that way at first too...but your mindest will soon change when you start realizing this is your lifestyle...and you will feel better and better everyday...(your mindset will change to I know I'll get to where I want to be eventually, and I'll stay there because this is my lifestyle now) It will prob only take a yr to get all the weight off...but being a 2nd timer, I can tell you that if you just focus on getting the weight off, you will gain it back! You need to focus on this is the new you...you now eat healthy, exercize, and drink lots of water...that you are just a healthy person now...like ron (digital mocking) said this is just my opinion...but I think having the right mindset will really help you in the long run...like I said b4, I focused on "let me lose weight" then I lost the weight...and not by changing my lifestyle (last time I lived on induction, didnt move up the rungs, and was just in a big hurry)...thats why I gained it all back...I didnt know what to do once I lost it all. Ok I think I'm sounding a little preachy here...and I dont mean to be...I just want you to succeed thats all.

With everyones help here you can do it! If your having a bad day get on here and talk to us; if your having a good day share that with us as well...

anyway welcome aboard...its great to have you...you seem like a sweetheart!
