  • Restart After Long Absense

    Hi Everyone,

After much time away I'm ready to try this again. I've tried Atkins off an on a while back but have since just eaten anything and everything. Needless to say I feel miserable. I had a problem for a while where I couldn't stand to look at another piece of meat, but that's passed. I'm in a much better place now than where I was when I was more active on the board--I mean a lot better place. My life is finally starting to come together, at least to where I can find some peace with me and the world and the way things are. I've gone back to school, I've proved I can do it, and after a couple year layoff I'm back in school (college) this summer taking a digital photography class and I'm loving it. We have several field trips planned and I'm taking a vacation by a river in Missourii. The field trips will take a lot of walking around (in the summer heat) and the vacation will be walking around in the heat, but also just being able to sit and stare off into nature for a few days.

My first quick goal is to lose something--anything--on Atkins by July 3rd--that's my vacation start. This coming week I want to start walking again and drinking more water and getting started on Atkins. After the first week of walking I hope I can handle better the field trips that will start in a week or two. Those are my main concern right now--after that my only goal for now is just to stay on Atkins this time--and to see how much better I can look and feel by this coming Christmas. I'd like this to NOT be another year where Christmas rolls around and I look to another year of trying to reach my weight goals. Enough screwing around, time to get serious. Oh--wait--I am taking a class on Public History this fall starting middle of August--so I guess after my summer goals the next goal will be to do whatever I can and at least to stay on Atkins faithfully (walking and eating) and just look and feel better by the time that class rolls around.

I plan on mixing steak with plenty of fish and chicken and having plenty of salad. I've been buying cases of bottled water and I do good on that off and on, but now it's time to get on and stay on them bottles. Anyway, you guys and gals have been great in the past. I'd like to check in here when I do my walking and have my faithful days of eating right, and use this forum to keep my headed the right path.

    Thank you,
    Jason Smith

Hey Jason, I just welcomed you in another thread but I'll do it here again. WELCOME back to the board and the CC! Sounds like you're ready to get back on track and reach your goals. I look forward to seeing you around the board and hearing of your progress.

        Hi Jason

Welcome back to your CC family

It sounds as if you are truly motivated and ready to go
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Thanks for the welcome, Elizellen. It feels good to be doing something about this again, and it's always great to have people to talk to who are in the same boat.
