  • Past Faces and Progress

I was looking around the forums looking for old faces from when I was last active here. I didn't see many until I found a post about those that have already lost 100 or more pounds. Then I saw a virtual roll call of familiar names and faces. I cannot tell you how floored I was--you all have done so very well, and you look awesome. You've stuck it out, and you've reached your goals. It reminds me of a book where a "generational ship" explores the galaxy only to come home and nobody's apparently home--until they see an unfamilar looking spaceship and realize that the Earth they knew moved on, evolved, etc.

All this time, I was not caring basically about myself, I could have been sticking to it, and my name could have been among the greats as well. I won't waste time kicking myself though--I've learned that lesson the hardway, of always looking back, and wasting more time when I could be looking forward and using wisely the time I have now. Finding the familiar faces was an exercise in motivation and determination that this time will be the time, that in a year or two, I will be a rising star of success on atkins, and that my life while much improved already, will be even richer.

I speak of myself here, but for anyone that is trying to get back on the wagon again, I'll speak for us all--LET'S GET 'ER DONE! Let's make 2008 our year, let's make this Christmas (or you holiday) the first Christmas or holiday where (not to sound presumptuous or anything but) we don't think and hope that maybe next year will be our year.

To everyone and anyone who'se had success on Atkins, I offer congratulations.

    Great positive attitude
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
