      Good morning everyone duplicate roll calls haven't done that in awhile. Looks like me an Chick were busy at the same time, lol.
      40 year old male 6' 3"

      What I know:
      1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
      2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
      3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.
      4-Self-deprecation only feeds our inner ego and not in a good way.

        Morning everyone or in my case it Wednesday night almost 11pm lol hope everyone has a great day. Forget to mention when I saw dr yesterday my BP was 86/51 way too low so he has taken me off my blood pressure meds yah. So that no insulin and no BP meds after losing 28kgs. Imagine what I be like by time I get to goal!

          Good Afternoon everyone,

          Wendy, wow! what great news about the BP and the insulin - you must be feeling wonderful. Quite an achievement.

          I got up early today and got my exercise in on my bike before breakfast. I often find that by the end of the day I don't really feel like exercising - so perhaps doing things this way round will help.

            Didn't get home till 10pm last night so still no walking. But still on straight water. The scale bumped up a bit and I've been doing salad, meat, and peanuts but I've not been watching the carbs on say the dressing, etc. I did stay away from the ham and other chopped meat at the salad bar but did endulge in the little (long) strips of chicken they had out... I knew the ham could have sugar but didn't think the chicken could be too bad. I figure as long as this first week I can kick the pop habit and stay generally in the atkins food range (no sweets, breads, pasta, etc.) then that will be a good start and next weekend I can hit it even stricter. This weekend I'm spending it all by the lake, so hopefully lots of walking over 48 hours plus what I can do the rest of the week - hopefully I'll be "caught up" and well on the way... Have a great Wednesday everyone!!!

              Evening Wendy, Congrats on kicking the diabetes and high blood pressure to the Curb.
              Jason, what rung are you on? If you're on Induction, no nuts. It's really important to have a clean induction. Congrats on the no pop!

                  Good afternoon CCers! I've gotten two walks in today already. Rain is coming so it looks like I'll have to do my C25K run/walk intervals on the treadmill tonight - BORING!

                  khesan ~ that's terrific news from the Doctor!

                  Keetje ~ I'd much rather exercise in the morning too, but I love sleep too much !

                  remote29 ~ Like Sherri said nuts are not allowed on Induction . They are allowed at a later phase though . Do you have a copy of Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution 2002? It's invaluable. If you follow the plan like he outlines you will get the best results.

                  Edit: That stupid yellow smiley face is not how it supposed to look. It's supposed to be a cute pink one! Aargh!

                    Thanks for the info on the nuts. I have an old copy (old edition it sounds like) of the atkins book, tonight I'll stop by the bookstore and get the latest. Thanks again!

                      Hey everyone Been a busy day for me. A friend came to visit from out of town and I ate at a restaurant for the first time since starting induction. I just stuck with steak and salad and asked for the steak to be cooked in real butter. The only vinegar they had was balsamic so I just had olive oil on my salad and it was delish! I was really worried about what I would eat when going out but now I see that its actually not that hard to say hold the potato! I 100% ate only induction friendly food, yay me!

                        Hey Lacey, you can always use a bit of lemon juice with your olive oil on a salad....pretty tasty

                          Congrats, Lacey! Way to stick to plan!

                          I don't know if you are a mushroom fan or not, but sauteed mushrooms are a great addition to a steak. Yum!
